You know at the next GHAC meeting you are going to have to give us your stories about the Bolivian trip :)
I have never been South of the border, (but I have been to Asia and Europe :) So how can I complain right ?

I know you are high on being high...haha...I love the clarity a high elevation induces in a lowland dweller such as myself.
I really envy you being there; just keep in mind that I have a current passport always ready, and can do a stand-in for you at any time. :)
Hablo mucho Espanol malo! Tengo 14 anos en Guatemala para negotios...muy onesto tambien!
]( cough! cough! )[ Sorry, my travel envy got stuck in my throat!
Have some fun, see you when ya get home.
Vaya con Dios, Traci!
I have to admit, I was dragging my feet coming here, but it's actually pretty cool now seeing all the differences between Bolivia and the States. And I have never met such a nice bunch of people...except for the fish club, of course. And I found some food today that was very tasty! I do miss vegetables and fruit though. That's the first thing I'm gonna eat when I get home....a big *** salad!! Tomorrow we get to visit another market. This one is supposed to be smaller and have more local items. Should be fun.
Hablo mal espanol, hablo lento y el movimiento....or something like that.
See you guys soon!!

I already shared some of the beginning of the trip, so here's how it ended....
Just know that it doesn't matter how careful you are, it can happen anyway. Because I was CAREFUL. I only ate cooked food, no vegetables, no fruit. I never drank water that wasn't bottled. I even brushed my teeth with bottled water!! Wednesday night I got back to the hotel and started feeling icky. By 2:30am, I was sick as a dog. By 7am, I had a 102.5 degree temperature, and by 9am, I had a doctor in the room giving me antibiotics, antacids, anti-nausea, and pain pills....and he tells me I'm dehydrated from being ill all night.
I thought the flu was bad....it's got NOTHING on whatever this is. So, Thursday I stayed in bed and missed a meeting, so everyone back in the States found out I was sick. We were supposed to fly back home at 9am on Friday, but they decided to go ahead and get me back home. I flew from Cochabomba to Santa Cruz Thursday night, then caught the red-eye to Miami (11:00pm to 6:00am), then switched carriers and got on an 8am flight to Houston. I'm still pretty shaky, but I ate real food today that has actually stayed with me.
There ya go! Boy, am I glad to be home.....

I wouldn't try to get anything past US customs. They busted me for smuggling an apple back from Hawaii (put it in my luggage at the hotel and forgot it).
