IF, IF mind you, there was a company that managed to get a fleet of new electric cars into the market place, it would be decades before there was any real impact on power plants. I would also have to believe that if we took 500,000 gas burning cars and replaced them with the same number of electric cars, that the power plants all over the country would now be producing as much pollution as those 500,000 cars, I can't see that happening either.
But the overall point was to find options to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels. At some not too distant point in the future, it may cost us 10.00 a gallon to run our cars and trucks, but if we had continued to produce and use electric cars, some of us might own one by now and this high cost of gas may have never come about ???
That's one way of looking at it ...
