  • HID kit

so if you were to get hid kit for your car, which one would you get, counting out the oem 4300k,   theres the 6k 8k 10k, i think 12k is illegal here...  but i've seen some bikes with it...
and please keep its legal or not out of this...

What color do you want? There is different candle wattage and the more or less candle wattage you get different colors. Now a days, they have plug and play kits available for your headlight sockets.

          Re: HID kit

it goes from white to blue to purple to pink... that i know, the old 6k on my car was burnt out, so it was replaced with a 8k set, long story short, i was in a car accident, one of the bulb is crushed, at first they didn't know how many k my bulb was, and i can't remember how many k it was either, so they order the 10k bulb, then they found out the ballast was burnt, so they order/install a 8k set, which is what i have now, then when they took out the other  working old ballast/bulb, they found out it was 6k, oh well, so i end up with 8k set in my car, with extra 10k bulbs...

What thingy's are you talking about?

I have done OEM HID headlamps on cars that it was an option on but didn't have it....not really getting what you are asking.

                Re: HID kit

i was talking about the reflectors, you know how halogen light reflects off the reflectors then shots the light beam, vs real HID just just shots into a lens of some sort then comes out the beam stright...
i am not really into cars is its hard for me to explain, but you know from far away, a lets say a car is equiped with oem hid, like a bmw, the light from it will be more focus and those that does a hid kit on halogen reflector, will just look bright, super bright sometime even...

I think you are talking about projector headlights....not all cars that are equipped with OEM HIDs come like that.

What kind of car? Are you just wanting the projector beam lens or the whole deal.....most are self leveling now.

                        Re: HID kit

i do not have the money to do it, so i was only wondering about it...  so its possible to add the beam lens only?

                          Re: HID kit

Depending on what kind of car but yeah it can be done.....is it worth it? Probably not.

There are aftermarket headlamps with them or the option of just finding some used headlamps with them already.
