  • Our Pomeranian Lark - RIP 05/25/08

We lost our pom yesterday. It was a blessing to have him and we're thankful that it happened on a day we were both home and could spend the last few hours with him. We'll miss him very much.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss Charles.  They tend to become like children (as I sit here with one of my "kids" purring in my lap).   I hope you have a lot of memories to help fill the emptiness left behind.

I've lost several over the years, usually age being the culprit.  I miss them terribly, but take comfort in knowing I did all I could to make them happy through the years, and fondly remember the times we had, although I must admit - there are times I still get teary, but I guess that just means I so have feelings after all.

Sincere condolences to both of you.

I'm so sorry Charles.  That is a difficult thing to go through no matter what.  Expecting it, not expecting it, being there, not being there...it still hurts to the core.

My condolences.  Tell Marion I'm sorry too....

I'm so sorry, as well. It's good to hear that you could be there with him in his last moments. Let Marion know we're all thinking of both you and her.

Sorry for your loss. My sympathy is with you, Charles and Marion. Since I work in the veterinary field and being pet owner myself, I know what you may be going through.  :(

Charles...sad to hear you lost your puppy.
I meet a lot of dogs in my work, and I have always had a fondness for Poms. Lark had that sweetness in his face I associate with them...smart and fun.
                  Really sorry.

Having a 12 year old dog who was not supposed to live past 3, I dread the feeling you are having right now.  I send my warmest hugs and hope a peace can fill your heart.  RIP Lark

I know saying "sorry for your loss" seems trite, but it is sent from dog owners that know how tough it is to lose a family member. Remember the unconditional love that our dogs give to us, and try to smile  :)

There was an email story that went around once of a young boy whose dog was in the midst of passing away.  His mother and father were talking to him about life and death.  His mom asked him "Why is it that such a wonderful creature could have such a short time on earth?"  The little boy replied, "Well.... we (as people) spend our whole lives trying to love with all our heart and make people happy with us.  Our dog already knew how... and he tried to teach us."  I know from my experiences, that each animal/kid has taught me their own way of making my life and outlook even better.  They have small hearts, but huge souls.  NOTHING can take the place of someone you have lost.  However... you can NEVER have too many guardian angels to help guide your different paths.  The great thing is, no matter how huge the loss, if you give yourself the opportunity, you CAN love again.
