husband cheats on wife

HI,

This is a very personal matter and I can ensure this is real, not a joke. But, the victim is my older cousin and I just want to help her. I am here seeking any advices.

She worked as a manicurist for 4 years after getting marriage to handle the expense, tuition, and mortgagee bill, so her husband could finish up the engineer degree. I don't know how long since she discovered her husband's adultery, but she sounded very pity talking on the phone with me few days ago. I can tell this is a hardest pain in her life. Of course she just want his heart back, but after knowing how serious the situation is, I told her that he is not trustworthy anymore. She must be ready for the worse scenario: divorcing, JUST IN CASE. Please correct me if i am wrong, but I heard that when one of mate cheated on other, that individual can not be qualified for 50% of the sharing property. This is obviously his fault, but the justice in the court always based on solid proof. So, how can I help her collecting the evidence that he cheated on my cousin.
I wish I can be a pre-law student, so I can be more helpful. Please let me know that I can do.

You're going to need to seek some professional assistance here my friend, I mean, asking the box members is okay, but to my knowledge, we don't have a divorce attorney here on the box.

Divorce laws are different in just about every state, so what you heard maybe correct in NewMexico or Louisana, but you can't afford to NOT KNOW for sure when it comes to live changing information. Perhaps someone will know for sure....I hope you find your answers.

She need to find a lawyer who will run with this!

This is true. It's hard to regain trust in a cheating spouse even if was a one night stand.

Depends if he try to contest the divorce.....revert back to the first statement. Is everything in her name or jointly?

Pictures and video always tell the story. Next cell phone records, credit card statements, lip stick or make up on clothes (don't laugh but dna is no punk)

I always suggest about lawyer, but very last choice b/c we know it's expensive.

Delock's statement "Is everything in her name or jointly?" my mom said it does not matter, a legal marriage always have equal share no matter whose name on the title.

"Pictures and video always tell the story." That's what I told her, but I can't spy on him. Don't have time, and he must be an old fox. Will private eye work? Any suggestion?

I don't expect to hear many experiences in here. Although I really need those, but honestly, I don't hope this painfull experience belong to anyone of all boxer.

It does matter when you can prove adultery on his part.....I have a good friend who went thru the same thing and she had the choice to walk with all of it!

the question that will be asked... "why did he cheat on her in the first place?"

I have a friend that is pre-law.....the down and dirty stuff
A friend's sister that is in law but handles corporate stuff
a friend that went through a divorce cause of a similar matter.


Bad place to look for advice but being put through some rough situations myself...

If she has her name on things those will either be split or hers for the taking....the cheating stuff really doesn't hold up much and things will still be split or divided through compromising between lawyers which IMO is the ONLY way to go about getting a divorce. If she has stuff in her name only........advise her to sell to whomever with a notarized bill of sale for the minimal amount so that they can be later bought back (this needs to be done with someone she truly trust).

I think I still own quite a few things done like so....


Honestly dude, look for a lawyer.

I did not get one, and she did.

I got railroaded to death, and I never thouoght she would have done that....but the lawyer did...

I agree with Geoff.. I am very happy that I got a lawyer in my divorce.. then again mine was pretty much the easiest one on earth ever done.
We split everything already -- she lives in another city now your Honor, and all I ask for is she discontinues the use of my last name.
Divorce granted !! Done.  Took less than 20 minutes of my day to get mine over with.  (best $333.00 I spent that year)

The way its set up in is infidelity is a cause of action to request a disproportionate share of the marital estate. It does not guarantee that disproportionate share. The Harris county Family Law Court judges have been known to do some pretty screwy stuff. PM me and I would be happy to give you the name and number for a couple of good,relatively inexpensive divorce attorneys. You don't necessarily need to hire one to go see one. Just go for a consult so that you can plan properly.
