    :clap:  Glad to hear he's doing better. And I'm glad they found out so quick what was wrong with him. Keep us updated on his progress. My cat (cupid) was sick for the first year we had him, he was vomiting and pooping everywhere. It took us a year of going back and forth to the vet to finally find out he's allergic to beef. We have to make sure we only buy seafood (cat food & treats). Now that he's going on 10 years old he's getting more and more allergies. I have to take him in ever 2-4 months for shots. I'm starting to think he's allergic to himself.   Anyway I'll be praying for you and your sweet baby boy. Hope he comes home soon.

        Something must be going on with pets right now.  Everything that has happened to people here on the box plus my in laws dog just died - she was only 10 yrs old.  I hope your beautiful Xander starts eating and gets to come home soon.  Vet bills are CRAZY!!  Keep us updated on him.  My two kitties Boone & April wish him the best!!   :P

                I was going to wait until later this afternoon to update, but now is as good a time as any.

                I went up to the hospital to feed Xander.  He is refusing to eat for them.  Good news is that he ate a little for me, but mostly was trying to guilt me into snatching him up and running out with him.  :)  When Xander wants something, he presses the top of his head into my stomach.  He was doing this today.  So, he's obviously feeling MUCH better.  After he ate, they said I could call back at around 6pm and if Xander held down his food he could probably come home tonight.  I decided to wait around for the blood test results, and to talk to Dr. Seely.  His PCV is holding strong at 24% - Whoo!  Hooo!  BUT his bilirubin is still too high to allow him to leave the hospital.  It's currently at either 2.4 or 4.2...I can't remember which.  Either way, he's got to spend another night and hopefully will be able to come home in the morning.

                I hope I hope I hope....:)

                  WooOOWOOO !!!!  I am so glad to hear him eating something and getting better. :)  I hope he will be home with you again sitting on top of the 75 playing with the fishes soon !!!

                    That is one cool looking cat.  It's amazing how they can wiggle themselves into our hearts and become such a cornerstone of our daily lives.  He looks like he's a real character, I'm sure he'll improve even faster once he's home where he's in control.

                      He IS a cool cat.  :)

                      He has so many traits that are not cat-like.  For one, he likes water!  He has no problem with the rain and I'm constantly drying him off when he comes in after a storm.  And he used to jump into the bathtub after I was finished and was draining the water.  He'd be elbow deep in the water just playing!

                      And he is my protector.  No matter what room I'm in, he is either laying at the door or at the opening to the room.  He doesn't have to be 'on' me, just near me.  And every time we're outside and someone is walking their dog or a dog comes near, he charges them.  Size does not matter.  

                      This is actually pretty normal cat behavior, but he brings me hummingbirds.  Live hummingbirds.  Live hummingbirds flying around the livingroom.  I'm not sure how he does it because it takes me forever to get them back outside.

                      Anyway, thanks again everyone for your thoughts and kind words.

                          Learn to put a hummingbird feeder inside.... with a cage around it.  so they will run into the cage to feed... and you close the door to the cage.. and bring the cage outside...

                            My cat (Lilly) brings me lizards, frogs, june bugs, tree roaches (yulk!) and a few other things that I have yet to identify. She also likes water. Now Cupid......one drop and he's gone!!!! He has to go take a bath because he got wet. :P  He never brings me anything. But they both follow me everywhere in the house. And if I go out on the patio they go too. They won't go out the front door because that's the door I use to take them to the vet. They think the front door is dangerous. You can even leave it open and they will just sit there. They are both totally indoor cats. Our patio is fenced in and has a kitty door from them to go in and out of. We also put some boards staggered along the fence from the to climb on. I guess you can say the patio is the kitty gym. They live here we just visit.    I am so glad to hear that your little guy is feeling much better. I hope you get to bring him home tomorrow. A house without a kitty is a lonely place.  :wink:

                              i've spent some time at that clinic,they are really good.one cat story.had a cat that would always climb into refrigerator when you open the door.got home from work one day,figured i'd get a coke.opened frig door,wilber is rolled up in a little ball on bottom shelf.opened his eyes,stood up and walked right out.he'd been in there 10 hours.your hero will be fine.

                                It's good to hear he's doing better....maybe we need an HFB pet insurance co-op.
