  • your cats and algae wafers

Does anyone elses cats(four legs and fur variety, not catfish) like to eat Algae wafers?

Everytime I pull one out to feed my BN pleco my cats will come around and bother me for them.

I've also left the wafer bag out on top of the tank and it always ends up on the floor half empty in the morning, or after work...

so anybody else have non fishy pets that like fish food?

I can honestly say I've never tried to feed any fish foods to my cat.

My cat loves algae wafers but not as much as catnip.  I make sure not to leave the package out where she can get them.  Cats like eating the green.

Yes!  If I run out of cat treats, I use fish food instead.  They LOVE it.  Flakes, pellets, wafers, sticks...it doesn't matter.

My current cats do not bother me when I feed my fish. HOWEVER, a previous cat I had, named Biollante, ate a small bag's worth of dried krill that I accidentally left out!

Yes, if I leave them out by accident my kitty will chew the bag to pieces. She has also eaten flake and pellets. Now I keep the food in glass jars.

I havnt had my cats eat anything else... altho I do find my flakes or shrimp pellets knocked over on occasion...

maybe they arent able to master that type of container because they lack the opposable thumbs!

My cats do the same thing. They love fish food.   The first time it happened was when I was putting algea waffers in my tank she was going nuts. So I told her it's fish food not kitty treats. Of course she didn't care and wanted to try it so I gave her one thinking that she would not eat it. Now everytime I take the bag out she thinks she has to have some too. Although I never tried to give the fish kitty treats....

Cats?!  My DOGS love algae wafers. Kinda an expensive dog treat. I've come home several times to very happy, tail-wagging dogs ... and empty algae wafer packages.
