    Re: Obama ought to

Delock, I think that they were referring to the attacks against Palin's daughter and family.
Obama made a very professional statement calling those allegations "out of bounds". I thought it was very tasteful.

Most people are questioning Obama's political record and standings.
I'm sure that with time, they will bring up the same questions about Palin. She hasn't been in office very long either.
It's a presidential election, at this point...experience does matter.

Obama camp want to focus on the issues and not someone family. It's hard for mass media to do that but oh well. But sometime you have to take the high rode when other are not doing it.

As for as experience......being a leader is the greatest experience you can have.

        Re: Obama ought to

I'm not a Democrat but I do think that he has set a precedent of how other politicians should carry themselves.
Very few of the ridiculous swipes have been made by him. Now Mr.Biden....not my favorite fellow.  8O

I would have a more difficult time deciding who to vote for if he would have chosen Hillary.
Despite my party choice, I really do agree with her healthcare plan and proposed educational programs (not to mention her stance on same sex marriage).

It would have been a tough choice. But Biden made it easy for me.

              Re: Obama ought to

I think that Biden is the opposite of Obama. Obama is well spoken and articulate. He doesn't make personal blows.
Biden is a little too much of a big mouth for my taste. I think he's a little too pushy with the things he says...he's a liability.

You never know when he's going to blow. Also, there is a little too much dirt on him, he said too many things that may haunt the Obama campaign. For instance,  when Biden was running for President he said that Obama wasn't ready to be President. Now all of a sudden 11 months later...he thinks Obama is ready.
What political voting group does Biden bring to the table? You know?
Not choosing Clinton left alot of people bitter and a good portion of the female votes back up for grabs.

                Re: Obama ought to

I generally vote Democratic, but I thought it was not a good choice to pick Biden either.

It seemned a very conflicting view to be running on its time for change look at me I'm new, then go and select one of the most connected, most lingering Democrats.

But at the same time, I see someone with a lot of experience.

I think if he had picked Hilary, it was in the bag to win.

+1, I think the Democrats would have been unstoppable at that point.
With experience comes baggage....I just don't think Biden is what the "young vote" wanted.

I dont think Clinton left alot of bitter voters. It was a hard fought race for the Dem spot. With Hillary showing support for the party will pull most of her voters to Dem.

Now...I just finish watching the RNC on PBS...its funny how he talked about his own party!

As for as Biden....well everyone will say that when you have no chance of winning the Dem spot

I got a kick outta that too, Delock. I also liked when he talked about vetoing bills with earmarks and wasteful spending, saying that he'd give us their names. Sounds like he took a few lines out of Perot's book.

Understandable...but I still think that alot of Hillary voters won't even vote now.
It's going to be an interesting race either way.

I thought it was very crafty of the Republicans to get a woman.

                            Seems very smartly played.
