I always wondered if the kennels on the back of the trucks have AC and heat... guess not...

I wonder how long she left the truck for lunch... a few minutes to get some fast food I can understand... but much longer then that seems like an obviously bad idea...  shoulda spent the 20 minutes it took to get back to the office and then gone for lunch...

Apparently they are supposed to have air.
Apparently she is being targeted to cover the wonderful care that is given to gov't vehicles.
I"ll bet her life is already hell... then to think the city gov't is putting pressure for major penalties to be imposed.  She will have to live with this forever.  It's bad enough these people have to know that a lot of the animals they bring in are euthanized.  Then to find out that some died while in her care.  Why aren't more people fighting for the hundred-thousands of animals killed at the shelter.  Instead they load their weapons when a freak accident occurred

Jstrider, I think you may have misread the story.  They do have a/c and heat, but the a/c actually went out due to a wiring issue.

missed that.

policy says she should've dropped them off first,  managers had made her run errands without dropping them off... sounds like she was getting mixed signals about what to do.

she'll probably end up being a scapegoat...

it was actually BARC that she worked for.  I feel bad for her, these workers don't do the job for the money, they get paid pennies.  In another article, either on Khou.com or click2houston.com they interviewed her and she was crying.  She's definitely being the scapegoat, and these animal activist groups need to back off until they get all the facts in

I feel sorry for her...she is  great animal lover. This job was her passion. She rescued several dogs and provided them lovely home. Hell, I been begging her for a rottwiler (sp)
