im staying, and stocked up. i got food/booze/Candles :wink: /and several great books. im house sitting so i cant leave, but i will take good care of these pups. gonna have fun watching all the pretty stormy weather. im off the whole weekend now so gonna enjoy it, watching Flash gordon right now.

We're staying....wife has to work today till noon. Can you believe that there are folks coming into her office wanting home insurance at the last minute. Yeah right....Like you're going to get insurance 'anywhere' right now. Folks are crazy thinking they can come in and pay 10 - 20 bucks once and expect to get paid $20,000 or more if something happens.

But we're hunkered down waiting for Ike to come through. Myself, the wife, 4 kids, 6 aquariums, 2 cats (one pregnant) and a dog 8O will be sitting this one out. My Mom, in East Texas, keeps calling trying to convince us to come up there....matter of fact, she just called again as I was writing this.

Well think of it this way, due to the low presure about 950 millibars maybe your pregnant cat will have her babies.

Work got canceled for me, unless Ike changes directions (which seems unlikely now). Major water changes have been done last night. My car is parked on the highest part of the parking lot (cars that were in in that section survived Allison some years ago). I lined the inside of my windows with thick cardboard (the kind
made for medical waste boxes) and packing tape. Hope that's enough.

  ....Funny thing is, we just 'adopted' this pregnant cat. We aren't sure if someone just moved from or nieghborhood and left her or something simular....or if she just likes it over here better. Either way, my 6 yr old has taken to her and informed us that we 'are' keeping her and that she has to come in with our cat for the hurricane. So....I guess I'm bringing in 'both' of our cats for the storm.

He is the fourth dog. so he is here with me. he can be a bit of a pill with the other dogs, but he has a lot of fun playing so he come with me to this house.
