Staying here in Dayton... I moved all the bunnies to the center of the barn and away from the potential rain, and my dad will be hooking up a generator to the house to keep the power on. I'll be changing water this evening before anything gets started.
A friend of mine just told me that a guy that is like family to her just died today. He was nailing tin up on his house and accidentally nailed into a live wire. Please pray for his family. His daughters lost their mom in a car wreck a few years back and now their dad is gone too.
JStrider and I are staying...although against the will of His mother, my mother, my grandmother, his sister, my roommate and about twenty other people. I kinda felt temped to push for going to La Grange or College Station but James is being a stubborn old fart. We rode around the neighborhood on our bikes earlier and counted about 30 houses that were boarded up (here in the woodlands.) Lots of tape on the windows. I would feel better if he hadn't been so stubborn and boarded up a few windows... Hopefully it won't be bad.
Well, I am staying...I am upstairs in an apt, and no way am I leaving my fish to just die. I may not have fun (but it might just be) but I will keep my guys alive through the storm.
Luck to all staying in Houston.

All my other tanks have gone on to better lives!
We're also up here in The Woodlands...we have a generator and penty of flashlights so we can see what we're doing in the middle of the night when the power will probably go out. We already have some friends and their dog camping out with us
Everybody be smart and be safe!

I never got a chance to get any battery operated bubblers, but my thought is that if the power goes out, I will use my computer's UPS for my big tank and put all of my little fish in there to live. It will be crowded, but hopefully I won't be without power for long.
Great advice, Nick. I just finished a 90% on my discus tank and 75% on each of the rest. My mom and sister have both called to ask why I'm not heading to Waco or Austin. My brother went to Waco--he lives in San Leon, though...where the water's already rising. I told them not to worry. We have the Magic Levy down here to protect us from the storm surge. Good luck everybody.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.
Did 100% water changes on my tanks yesterday and today.....tunze powerhead has a dc connection where it will automatically switch over if power is loss so that's still 10x circulation.
