I am in the process of looking for a contractor (or contractors) to do some roof / window / door/ drywall/ wood floor work. I would prefer someone that someone else has successfully used. Let me know if you have any suggestions. I know I'm going to have to wait in most cases, but would like to get as much done as possible in the next two weeks.

    Thanks,
    tim

Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Thanks Geoff. I was looking for something slightly more permanent though.

Good for the most part... it is kinda hard to get on top and see it since it is four stories up... but it looks good from what I can see. I just had a few minor leaks.Knowing the age of the roof, I am considering redoing the entire roof before something goes REALLY wrong.

                Re: Contractors

My next door neighbor and a very good friend of mine, Billy Melton, is a roofing contractor. Here's his number: 832.630.8757

He specializes in post-hurricane jobs. If available, he'll get a good water-proof tarp secured to your roof asap and then get your house re-shingled with in a week or two. He is insurance friendly as well.

EDIT: I just got off the phone with him, and he said to make sure to mention that I (Stewart, his next door neighbor) sent you, which should bump you to the front of the line (no guarantees of course).

                I hope this helps.
