As some of you have read some of the posts in here about politics and oil and you might have realized that I have a disdain for the banking industry. Well this past week as gotten me furious over what has been allowed to go on during the Clinton and Bush administrations with that industry. What we see today is a direct result of the lax standards both presidents have shown toward Banks and the SEC has done nothing to protect us Americans. I have found out that the CEO's of all of the major banks that just came crashing down the last few weeks are getting paid wonderfully for totally screwing their employees and Americans to my knowledge with the last three major bank collapse Merrill Lynch, Lehman Bothers, and Bearn Stearns have grossed nearly .5 billion dollars to walk away from the ruins of once proud and long lasting banks. In the case of Lehman Bothers helped build the railroads now just a pile of worthless paper. Its a shame in American society and economy that this was allowed to happen. They should be sued for what has happened and the head of the Chris Cox of the SEC, Barney Frank of Chairman of the Finance Committee and others need to be fired and fined in my opinion

Re: This makes me mad
Don't forget AIG and the foreign banks the government wants to bail out as well. You have to admit, Barney Frank is a genius, a genius at jacking things up. I love that BF philosophy of lowering the standards for people then hold everyone accountable rather than making people be accountable for themselves. Also let's not hold back on Alan Greenspan. All men are created equal but his choices determine his value and what's in his heart determines his worth.
"Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end"

Re: This makes me mad
I think its more of a failure of the Legislative and Executive branch than Greenspan. I am in favor of opening up the financial industry that Greenspan wanted that Phil Gramm helped push into law. But I do not think that either of them thought that Clinton, Bush, and the whole legislative branch was just not going to pay any attention to what the banks were doing. As much as this pains me to say I agree with the Dems stance so far but I will admit that I havent read into the whole thing but the Dems want to hold the execs financially accountable in that if any banks apply for the government assistance in its loans then the execs have to give up their incentive based bonuses since it will be bogus since they just unloaded a bunch of bad debt.

I've just determined not to let stupid comments about our current president from you roll off my back all the time. Your poor command of verb tense just made it more amusing for me. Children read these posts and I am doing my best to ensure that they don't grow up using bad grammar.Charles Jones

And actually I myself misspoke. It wasn't verb tense. It was the differentiation between singular and plural.Charles Jones
