My mother needs your kind thoughts, please.

My mother, who is 64, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) 5 months ago and underwent a successful masectomy Tuesday. The doctors believe they got all the tumors and remain watchful and hopeful. She lives in another town 3 hours from me.

Stage 4 is considered terminal and IBC is the worst kind to have. It's in the breast and lymph nodes. Lymph nodes are the worst spot to have cancer. They gave her 3 years to live so we are all worried and concerned for Mom.

I'm sharing this so everyone will understand if I go on vacation unannounced or appear to be short tempered. I'm dealing with this the best I can without having a mental break down. It's hard, folks.

Please send your kind thoughts in her direction. And go tell your family that you love them.

I'm sorry to hear she is going through this ordeal.  I'll pray for your mom, you and family.  I have some inkling of how you feel.  Keep thinking positive.

Greg I don't know you (i think) but I want you to know that I understand the pain and distress that cancer, or any terminal illness, can bring to a family.

I lost my grandmother one amputation at a time this year until the Lord finally brought her home a couple weeks ago, my uncle just had his lung cancer come back aggressively at the same time and is in the 'lets make him comfortable' stage and to top it off I spent all wednesday in the hospital with one of my students who  has a cancerous mass growing under his eye. it seems as if cancer is everywhere these days stealing the ones we love right out from under our feet.

Gregg, I do not intend to distress you but rather it is my wish that you know, from someone who is struggling just as you are, that there is hope in prayer and rest in the word of the Lord. the Bible teaches us that all things pass through His hands first and that all things work together for good for those who love Him. when you are feeling distressed I want you to know that it is ok to be overwhelmed, take it as an opportunity to prayerfully cast your worries at His feet.

the Lord has the power to take away this illness, and He may which would be great, but the worst case scenario is He simply brings this person home to be with Him in paradise.. when the worst thing that could happen to you is really the best thing then you truly have little to fear.

I will pray for the Lords hand in your lives, that you all receive the strength to endure and faith the remember who is really in control here. if you or your family needs any assistance at all, even if it is just a partner in prayer. my phone is always on and I have taken some time off work to seek the Lords will for my life so my schedule is open. if there is anyway I may serve just let me know.

greg...nothing can be said that really makes a difference to you...it's the intention to comfort and support that comes across here that can make things a little better.
I can only echo the sincere support the Boxers have expressed...my Mom left us many years ago, and I still find myself wanting to call her and share something special that just happened. Good people have hard things happen to them...remember that you at least have time to be there with her, and hold firm to your family.
I was fortunate enough to have told my Mom I loved her, and give her a hug and a kiss goodbye, the night before she unexpectedly passed from a massive coronary.
