        Re: Colin Powell

We went to Iraq so that we'd all have the freedom to sit on these computers all day.
We went so that the democrats will still have the FREEDOM to bad-mouth Republican leaders and vice-versa.
We went so that women can still walk freely down the streets.
We went so that you and I can both raise our children however we please.
We went so that we can protect the thing that hundreds and thousands of men and woman have died for; freedom.
We all have the freedom right now to call eachother crazy liberals and nutty conservatives...

Even if there was NOTHING....even if they found no weapons at all, is that really a risk you want to take?
We are on the brink of equal opportunity and equality that people a hundred years ago would have never imagined...
And you want to risk all of that for "well, I HOPE there aren't any weapons of mass destruction".
If there were weapons of mass destruction and God forbid there was a nuclear warhead that we couldn't stop, who would you blame?
        THE GOVERNMENT.
So then what's the difference, pooped on if you do, pooped on if you don't.

I am going to assume that was a mistype and was supposed to be Iraq because someone might ask are you trying to start a war with Iran you know how those crazy liberals get.

I do have a serious question that I can never really get answered by a Democrat.

Was the fight with Serbia over Kosovo justified?

So we sent our troops there, thousands of which didnt make it home, thousands of which do not know when or will they ever make it home.
At the same time, killing thousands of innocents out there, spending billions while the economy is in jeopardy. So I guess those casualties are just "cost of our freedom"!? Well thats fair. Try telling that to people who lost their loved ones in that war, Americans and Iraqis alike.

ps: I'm not on any side here as I'm not a US citizen. Just stating what I think about the war. BUT in last 8 years, things has gone from bad to worse, there got to be someone to blame!?

Try telling those who lost loved ones in the terrorist attacks on 9/11 about all the innocent Muslims while you're at it. I keep hearing "try telling it to the families of the dead soldiers". The truth is that military families overwhelmingly support the war, overwhelmingly support the President, and overwhelmingly vote Republican. That's why the Democrats in the last election were trying to disqualify the military vote. You're attributing a mischaracterization to these families. Let's not forget that it was LIBERALS who protested at the funerals of the soldiers killed in combat. So let's not hear this drivel now about how liberals are feeling for the soldiers' families. They had their chance to act honorably (the liberals) and instead took actions which should make us all sick. I guarantee you that when it comes down to it most of the soldiers' families are remembering the images and sounds of the liberals protesting at the funerals of honorable soldiers. I guarantee you that most 9/11 victims' families are remembering the images of the Muslim world cheering and dancing in the streets when the towers come down and their loved ones perished. They honor those memories with their votes. They honor those memories by NOT acting in a dishonorable way like the liberals. Thank God for those people and their strength to stick by what is right and honorable when they have so much reason for sadness.

                  We protected something worth protecting.
My grandfather was a U.S. Marine who died in Vietnam
My father was a U.S. Marine
My twin sister IS a Marine (don't ask don't tell)  8O
And go figure, David (my David- SpongeBob Bandito) is joining the Marines.

There hasn't been a draft since Vietnam. These people who have died have died for YOUR freedom and for mine.
When you join the military, you know very well you have a chance of never coming back.

                    Re: Colin Powell

I just want everyone to remember the events that got us here. Maybe I'll post some links to the cheering of the Muslims in the street. The beheading of our citizens. The rescuers trying to dig bodies out of the WTC. The liberals are doing their best to make us forget those things. Because if we remember, if Americans fix those images in their hearts and minds, we cannot possibly lose.

THE NEXT PORTION GETS QUITE GRAPHIC...BUT PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW, TO REMEMBER! BUT SKIP IT IF YOU NEED TO. I DO HOWEVER RECOMMEND THAT CHILDREN NOT READ THIS!

Do you remember the execution of Nick Berg?  We never really hear about it...especially now. You might have heard that he was beheaded. More likely in the major media you heard he was "executed" or "killed". But have you ever really heard what happened? Do you really understand what happened? He was on his knees. I don't know whether or not he saw his captors as evil. When you hear the term "beheaded", "killed", or "executed" it makes you think that he was put on a chopping block or in some sort of guillotine. It makes you think that his head was lopped off by a large blade of some sort with a clean stroke. At least this was the imagery that it brought up for me. That was until I saw the video. You see...the man doing the beheading used a small knife. He started in the front. Berg was screaming in terror. He didn't start screaming until they grabbed his head by the hair and exposed his throat and brought the knife to it. Maybe he was blinded enough to not understand the evil around him. The terrorist with the knife started in the front...cutting through Berg's throat like you would say through a tough piece of meat. It was a time consuming process. The terrorist stopped when he had gotten about halfway through. Berg's screams, but not his struggling, had stopped when they had gotten to his windpipe. Then the terrorist laid his body, still alive, face down on the ground. He grabbed Berg's head by the hair and pulled it back at an angle. He resumed his sawing motion...this time from the back. After some time, Berg stopped moving. The terrorist wasn't finished though. Berg's head was still attached by what, I surmise, was his spinal column. The terrorist now had to saw through that but was eventually able to by rocking the head back and forth to loosen it. It finally came loose and the terrorist held it up in triumph, face to the camera, for the world to see.

Now....is that what you think of when you hear "killed" or "executed" or even "beheaded"? It's a shame that it wasn't for the world to see...because if it had been we'd be a stronger more resolute country. There's a reason aside from the graphic content that most people have never seen this or know what really happened. It was kept from us for a purpose. I wish that it had not been. We'd be unconcerned about the "political correctness". We, but for a few of us who will never see the truth, would see evil for what it is, and more, would be determined to fight it with all of our hearts.

I do apologize if anyone is offended. I should never have had to tell this tale or recount these images. It shouldn't have ever fallen to individual citizens to spur the memory or understanding this way. God help us if we don't get a better understanding as a nation of what we're up against.

Those terrorists hate us, as Americans, so much that they would treat one of ours lower than they would an animal.   Doesn't that warrant a fight??? How can Americans NOT be outraged by this? If any of you liberals were to go over there and be captured by the terrorists, they would give you the same treatment--even if you are against the war! Thinking that the bull won't charge after you and kill you just because you are a vegetarian is foolish!

No and no...we're too busy worrying about people's feelings, which group not to offend, who not to profile...instead of doing what needs to be done no matter what. And we shouldn't have to "bring up" 9/11...it should be front and center in our hearts and minds until we destroy those who would destroy us. That's the point that people are missing.

                            Re: Colin Powell

I keep having this feeling that with Obama as president, we are going to see things that we never dreamed of. I am not saying this to use against the Democrats but even Joe biden had said "“Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America.” and “Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”

“He’s gonna have to make some really tough - I don’t know what the decision’s gonna be, but I promise you it will occur. As a student of history and having served with seven presidents, I guarantee you it’s gonna happen."

Those words are from Joe Biden... Obama's running mate. Remember when I wrote before of how scared I am under an Obama administration? Seriously people, after all that I had read and things that I have heard, I feel that the United States is not going to be the country that we all love. I know that some people feel that I am over reacting and there are those who feel that I am not educated enough but now is not the time to joke about the matter. I am smart enough to put one and one together. We can joke once the problems are fixed and they can be. People, it is a guarentee that under John McCain, that he has already had the experience of war and the world will not miss with him. Even democrats in office understand this.

I do understand that the Democrats love this country just as much as the Republicans but after truely listening to both sides, some of the Obama plan will somewhat what delay the country's pain for now. Let's use the term "Put a bandaid on the problem". But it will cause further damage in the future. What we need to do is fix the problems for the long term because as many of us know... we can sometimes stop the bill collectors temporarily but eventually they will start calling back! That is the same thing with the US economy. Just because you put a bandaid on the problem doesn't mean that the problem will go away and more than likely, it will only get worse.

WHat I don't understand is why are so many people willing to take that chance? I rather have a president that is guarenteed to protect us than a president that is going to be tested. To me, tested has always meant a 50/50% chance of doing the right thing and surviving at the end. If you know someone was going to hurt your loved one, would you be willing to take that chance? Something tells me that if we don't use our heads than September 11, 2001 will be nothing to what could be instored for us.

As for as your posting, marauder_77868. That is something that I never heard about and it send chills down my spine. I will never be able to wrap something like that around in my mind.

I have always been proud of my country, even as a little boy. I remember going to the Astros games and when they would play the Star-Spangled Banner. It would bring a tear to my eye. That was at the age of 5 or 6. I have always been proud of my men and women who had and are wearing the uniform. And even though I might not had agreed with my president, I have always thought that the American people would make the right choices. Those who do not study the candidates are now having me question their choices. It is sad to say that at least half on the voters, from both sides, do not know who the man that they vote for are. Take time to know the goods and the bads about your candidate of choice. Look at their record and see if what they have done fits in tomorrow's political agenda.
You will never know the true feeling of being loved until you feel it from your child.

Honkzz...to answer your last question. NO!

Instead of going for Bin Laden who stated he was responsible for 9/11. We decided to go after Saddam Hussein. Why..because e had weapons of mass destructions. So the report say. Almost every country have some form of WMD. But why did we really go after Iraq instead of Bin Laden?

I know this...every nation was ready to drop everything on Afghanistan rght after 9/11. But no......Bush didnt want that. How do I know?  A good friend was a high ranking officer in the Royal Australian Navy. They were ready to go into Afghanistan but never got the ok from the US. Several other was waiting for the word go also. Same thing was told to me from the CIA and FBI..So I have no reason to lie..why!

Ask this question...a man who claim reponsiblity for the worse act of terriosm on US sole right after 9/11...and you let his family leave the US during a no fly period.

                              Was 9/11 right? Heck no...

Should we blew Afghanistan up right afterward...heck  yeah

Should we listen to the UN report about Iraq....Heck yea
