I'm voting Bob Barr 2008 so I can sleep well at night. I cannot identify myself as a Republican any longer. Time for change and for that I think we need another choice. The media has given us two wrong choices.

it's your choice as an American to vote for who ever you want, that's one of our rights given to us in the Constitution. I just hope the same rights are still in place in four years from now. Even though I don't care much about firearms, I am concerned for those of you who are, Obama is not going to be very "user friendly" to gun owners.

Re: I'm voting Libertarian
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Give a fish a man, and he'll eat for weeks!

Re: I'm voting Libertarian
I held back saying the same thing...there are 2 parties ruling this election. The time to vote for an alternative was way back during nominations...now, the greater amount of votes make the winner...vote for me or jesus and you vote for the guy you wouldn't have voted for. Simple...
A vote for Bob is a vote for Barak. Sleep with that after the 4th.Working for a better Future for my Fish!

Re: I'm voting Libertarian
My point in voting 3rd party is to hopefully show to those who are paying attention that there is a lot of dis-satisfaction with the two party system that dominates our electoral process. If enough people vote outside of the two "conventional" parties, maybe someone will take notice and wonder if there might be a problem with our current policy.

Re: I'm voting Libertarian
Not my article... but what it says does have some appeal to me...
My Suggestion: Don't Vote
The critical problem we face today is the same one all mankind has faced: the state, those monopolists who claim the right to break the laws that they make and enforce. How to restrain them is the critical problem of all sound political thinking. Making matters worse, this gang now has a monopoly on the money and the ability to print it, and they are abusing that power at our expense.
How does voting change the situation? Neither of the candidates for president wants to do anything about the problem. On the contrary, they want to make it worse. This is for a reason. The state owns the "democratic process" as surely as it owns the Departments of Labor and Defense and uses it in ways that benefit the state and no one else.
On the other hand, we do have the freedom not to vote. No one has yet drafted us into the voting booth. I suggest that we exercise this right not to participate. It is one of the few rights we have left. Nonparticipation sends a message that we no longer believe in the racket they have cooked up for us, and we want no part of it.
You might say that this is ineffective. But what effect does voting have? It gives them what they need most: a mandate. Nonparticipation helps deny that to them. It makes them, just on the margin, a bit more fearful that they are ruling us without our consent. This is all to the good. The government should fear the people. Not voting is a good beginning toward instilling that fear.
This year especially there is no lesser of two evils. There is socialism or fascism. The true American spirit should guide every voter to have no part of either.
of course when you dont vote, everyone sees it as lazyness or apatheticness... not a protest...
I already voted.

Re: I'm voting Libertarian
While I lived in Argentina where they are compelled to vote and most voted blank ballot. As I look over the last years I see that it doesn't work as they got screwed. In addition there are other issues and local candidates on the ballot that need a voice so I'd encourage anyone to vote.Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day.
