Re: John McCain, what a class act...

No you didn't. You just refused to call him your president. You just repeatedly said the election was stolen. And now you want to do everything as "WE". I actually have no problem with that. I was just pointing out the hypocrisy that exists between things you've said in the past and what you seem to want now. Would you feel the same if McCain had been elected?

After 8 years of Bush bashing and "he's not my President" and "they stole the election" what I'm doing should hardly be construed as whining. I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy. I'm somewhat glad Obama won...though not for reasons that most would think.

I expect respect for the office of President from the getgo...It's what I will give Obama...It's what Bush should have received from the beginning...he didn't

Re: John McCain, what a class act...

respect for the office goes both ways. i dont feel Bush Jr. had that respect for the office or Clinton (not that i think his personal life should have been brought out like that but he did not need to be disrespectful inside the whitehouse) for that matter, i believe Bush Senior did. but giving someone, anyone Respect without it being earned i dont agree with. Blind leading the Blind. Respect is earned, i have that rule with anyone i know. i do my best not to judge someone before knowing them and then if in the future i am proven wrong i will admit it. But i truly dont think anything about the last (well current still)president spoke respect, for the office, for himself, or even for the Country or its people, and definately not respect for the peoples of the world. I was ashamed of how America has been and is continuing to be represented through the world. I can respect the office and what it is meant to stand for and not believe that those values are being uphead by whoever is in that office. Makes me think of the line in Kingdom of Heaven (the movie) when the King says that it doesnt matter how a Knight follows orders because he will have to stand before god alone when he dies and God doesnt care if you comminted a crime (and or sin) in someone elses name. Not making the argument religious, just saying that it brings an interesting point to light, when would most people stand up and say "hey you know what, what you are doing is wrong and i wont stand for it anymore" seems they may have.

I have to agree with this. I've heard whining about Bush for eight years. What has been said on this forum, other forums, and in social circles today about Obama winning pales in comparison to what I've had to listen to for the last eight years.

Hmmmm...   After careful analysis, I would have to blame 9/11, the dot-com fall-out, the Iraq war, inflated gas prices, and ARM & sub-prime mortgage fallout are pretty much what has screwed up the country. Only one can be truly attributed to GWB.

Okay, I can't hold back anymore. I was about to bust.

Kennedy did a lot of good things while in office but he also is responsible for the US involvement in the Vietnam War. He and LBJ got us into a heck of a mess over there and to top it off, they would not allow American Soldiers to defend themselves even when fired upon. Kennedy also holds responsibility for the Bay of Pigs which led to the escalated tensions between the US and The Soviet Union (Cold War)

Nixon who is always remembered as a bad president for Watergate (which by today's standards was minor) is the President that lifted the ban on US Soldiers being able to fire back when fired upon in Vietnam. He also escalated support for US Troops which thus lead to the cease fire and ended the Vietnam War.  Nixon's Foreign Policy was amazing. He also is responsible for reducing the tensions between The US and Soviet Union as well as US relations with China.

As for Clinton, If I did what he did with an intern and at work in my office. I don't think my employers (or my wife, or my employees) would consider that behavior "My Personal Life" and just let it go. And I wouldn't expect them to.

Of course you don't. You just get real talkative when it's something you want to say...and you get real silent when you're trapped by your own words.
