All the diversionary tactics aside, you have to admit that faced with the facts broken down into simplistic terms the scenario we are all facing is far from fair to anyone.

Life is a series of choices and we live with those choices even if we decide we don't like the outcome later on down the road.

It saddens me a great deal.

I remember in 1990 living on campus and going to UT. 25cent pitchers at Double Dave's and showing up for class the next day hoping and praying for a Bell Curve on the test I had to take because I had thrown away (on my own) my opportunity to prepare.

I grew up...

So many people out there hoping and praying for a Bell Curve in life. It is truly sad to me.

If I have a long and hard week, I gross about $950-$1200; 20% tax gives me about $750...my utilities and rent go about $800 a month, gas and materials $250 weekly;$1800+ before food, etc and child support leaves me $1575. After car insurance, cc payment, food etc, I have about $125 a week to spend on medical or car repairs or anything I want...so, I can't get a house or anything that costs more than $125 a week.
I routinely wish I was richer...now Obama says I am gonna get some more from redistribution of the wealth and how can I think that is not a good thing?
True...pie in the sky, but human nature being what it is, the busy working and worrying people and those who prefer a specific lifestyle over a quality lifestyle feel that Obama gots what they need to keep on hoping for a new HD tv or a new car.
I want nothing more than the freedom to keep trying to find a way to keep more of what I bust my butt for, but I am stronger than most of the people I meet daily who have monetary needs that outweigh their personal pride or sense of responsibility.
I don't want to get started on the families paying almost no taxes, using the emergency rooms for medical free care, living illegally 6-8 people to a 1 family trashed out house or apartment, and driving '06-08 Nissans, Chevys, and Toyotas without too much or any insurance.
Obama has nothing but aggravation for me, but those who care little for the past or the future hear him promise everything they want along with all the stuff needed for a fun life and say "Yes! Hope! More money! No effort on my part! Gimmee! Gimme!"
I can't wait for the bombs to start going off at random times here in the USA, now that Mr. Rogers is Commander in Chief.

You are a good man who knows the value of hard work and understands, well I'll just say, you understand and I respect you greatly for that knowledge and determination to do more for your daughter. i dont agree with the Tax plan either. of course it hasnt been aproved yet so its not in effect yet. however i dont believe huge tax breaks to the super rich is right either. We are lucky enough to live in a country where you can make enough money to live better then just about anywhere in he world. now i find it interesting that it has supposedly been a tiered system. as in you payed more paxes if you were in a significantly higher bracket. the justification for that was that you benifitted more from our economy and therefor bore more responsibilty for supporting the government, and helping those less fortunate. (the Disabled and injured Veterans and the Like, not necessarily those on Welfare) But the other side of that was that there are countless laws that allow a company or businessperson to pay less by writing certain things off. I know a friend who had his car get paid for by the government because it was writin in as a work car (it was a Lincoln Navigator and he was in HighSchool, not exactly a work vehicle) Those kind of practices make me not trust those that can access those kinds of tax laws. not everyone does that but a majority use them not exactly as intended. Then the other problem would be where the large corporations are going with their practices. A Company used to reward Loyalty with perks like Pension plans and the like. Now they can take those away anytime they want. around 20 years ago a head executive made somewhere close to 40 times the company average wage. now they make over 400 times the company average wage. Now that was a figure from several years ago, and of course Statistics are never exactly what they are supposed to be. but even if those numbers are close that means there has been a huge shift in corporations to reward primarily the higher ups only. Even in my industry (well say corporate petstores) you can move up much faster by switching companies and going back and forth, that doesnt seem to make any since. because if you liked a company and worked hard there you would be rewarded less then if you went and worked for a competitor and then came back. Thats some Bull&%$#

Just out of curiousity....what's a huge tax break to you? During the Carter administration the highest tax bracket was, I think, like 72%. So what's a huge tax break? Reagan cut that to 28% and tax revenues INCREASED.
