    Re: How about the Economy?

I guess we will all see but I am fortunate that I have the stability somewhat in that people will always die so my company will need to be around and secondly as long as their is an SEC I will have to be here to report on my company. I dont mind credit based since I dont carry cash anyways

Okay, how about this way.....I'm not concerned with the Myan calendars end date, anything can happen before that.

            Re: How about the Economy?

WOO HOO!!! We can all relax. Microsoft (who I believe is far more technologically advanced than the Myan's) seems to predict that mankind will survive at least through May 2050. I just checked the calendar in Outlook and it goes well beyond 2012. I stopped checking past 5/2050 so even though the last published Myan calendar ends at 2012, Microsoft seems to have saved us all by publishing a calendar well beyond that.

Thank goodness, I worry every year when I buy a calendar and it always seems to end on Dec 31 of that year which I can only assume signifies the end of the world unless there is another culture with a calendar that shows different.

Whew, Thank you Microsoft for saving all of us with a calendar that seems to go on longer.

That's all well and good, but I'm hoping for the Nexus ribbon to come along, I want off this planet before 2012, just to be sure..... :)

Ooohhh! You don't have to wait long... You can get 6 Nexus ribbon's of your own for $54 Nexus Ribbon but I don't see how this is going to get you off this planet. How does that work? I have some extra lexmark toner cartridges but the only thing they seem to do is print my documents.

                      Re: How about the Economy?

All I can say is there was a lot of things that we dont know about the Myans and Egyptians that might put their level of tech near what we were in about the 1700 and we are talking about civilizations that were in the 500-1000. They mysteriously lost all of their knowledge well Egyptians more due to the fact that the Library of Alexandria was burnt to the ground. Egyptians had batteries about 500 years before the batteries that we have today. Myans were able to align certain buildings to true north and south hundreds of years before the compass was invinted so we think. Today it would still take us a decade or two to build the pyramids and we would have a very hard time at it. By most records it took the Egyptians roughly 30 years to build some of the pyramids. They usually started when the Pharoh was crowned and most cases were done by there death and remember this was a time when people only lived about 40-50 years

Well, you have to keep in mind that Egypt also had hundreds of thousands of Jewish and African slaves that did all that work so it's an amazing feat but not unbelievable with all those slaves.

Strange how we don't hear more about the fact that Egypt was the founder of the African Slave Trade.
