    Re: How about the Economy?

Even with just shear man power that would be extremely difficult to do some of the stone weigh in the range of 1 ton each and you are talking about a structure with hundreds of thousands of these quarried from a place that is over a few hundred miles from the site. That would still take us an a long time to accomplish today with a work force as large as we think they had. Not to count that it is estimated that the population of Egypt as a whole was thought to be the size of Houston. With Cairo being the metropolis with only about a few hundred thousand which in today standards that is as big as a city like Waco.

Ok so back on topic. The way I see it is Obama over promised realized that he cant do it as fast as he thinks. And both parties are going to screw us into a quasi depression if not a full on one just like they did in the early 30s. But for now from my perch it looks ok so far and I hope that I am wrong

          Re: How about the Economy?

Very true. I can't disagree with the fact that it was an amazing feat but the population was skewed if I'm not mistaken. In ancient Egypt, slaves were not counted in the population as they were not considered to be any more than animals. Some historians show the count of slaves in Egypt at that time in the millions. Egypt had reportedly diminished Africa by up to 85% of it's population and this does not include the Jewish slaves.

I still can not imagine that one they could have taken that many people from Africa and two the population still alone could not have accomplished in my mind what they did with out some kind of help. I am not talking about aliens or anything so lets not get into that. I just think that they were far advanced than we give them credit for and our society has lost a lot of know how some how. I mean either the Myans or the Incans metal casting hundreds of years before the dawn of bronze age as we know it
