  • How about the Economy?

Does anyone on the box here foresee in the future, the possible use of "electronic credits" in stead of cold hard cash?

If so, how far down the road, do you suppose this will come about?

    8O .........i'm sure it's coming....probably in about 1-2 years down the road.....maybe sooner....
but first the transition will have to take place....and that's not done yet.....so we'll see what happens with that....but all the talk that i've been hearing is all geared to immediately immplement this "economy boosting plan" that Obama has....we can only hope and pray at this stage of the game i think.....

but then again...that's just my humble opinion......

ohh, many, many years ago.  Today, cold hard cash is just paper promises of digital credit.

            Re: How about the Economy?

I was speaking of the literal absence of cash all together, where one would have only credits on file.....there would be no transfer of coin or paper, maybe in some cases just basic forms of barter, and the transfer of credits from an ID or Debit type card.

I can see this happening in a decade or so, but am curious when or if even the Amero is going to show up...??  Supposedly, some 800 Billion of them where sent to China in leiu of what we owe them, they specifically asked for the Amero, according to internet news articles.

The literal absence of cash all together in the global market will probably never take place, considering the state of economic development in 3rd world counties.  I really don't see how some countries (i.e. Iran and others) would want to work with the West to develop an all credit market.

Regarding the Amero, when taking both current global economic market structures and the political regimes of the three counties need to form the Amero I don't think that it will even develop.  Mexcio is the the one that has to get Canada and the U.S. to change the dollar. I don't see the U.S. wanting to do this anytime soon. Plus, as long as the three countries have a free floating exchange rate it almost works the same. But I do see the economic efficiency argument of the Amero.

Even still, the hypothetical currency is modeled on the common European Union currency which has it's owe problems right now. And, many argued that the Amero is a natural extension of NAFTA; however, again, even NAFTA has it's problems.

                Just my thoughts on it....

                    ** edit **

I had a long line of stuff written out about this whole subject as I am one of those stupid Debunking Conspiracy Theories type people.
Today I had a great conversation with one of my friends about the amount of similar conversation one of our colleagues everyday here at work talks about.

The only thing I am going to bring up...  Both my friend and I have agreed that when Obama in 2013 is either inaugurated again for the second time or replaced ALL of these conspiracies better have come to fruition, because both of us are tired of being told time lines and those being passed up constantly and still being here on earth, or alive, or something else.    I hope I will be here in 2013 because I REALLY HONESTLY want to be here to see what happens...

We choose this day.. why because ALL of the current "speculations" have climatic end days well in advance of this day.

When Jan 20, 2013 comes, please dont back pedal or scoot aside or something else, dont bring excuses for why it didnt happen, dont bring reasons to the table that it didnt occur or some other secret society came together to break those current ones up..   I want to see concrete proof..  no excuses...  you have 4 yrs to impress me.

If things occur exactly like those who tells us about the conspiracies are saying, I might have to start thinking another way.. but till then I am going to stay true to what I think today...

I don't think a lot of what has been posted is conspiracies. There is a lot of published work out there by professionals and statemen on this subject.

                          Re: How about the Economy?

Zulaab my friend, I am not positive about anything I hear and read of these days, but I am keeping an open mind towards the future.

Due to new lounge rules, I am restricted from speaking of politics on this forum now, so let me just say that I believe socialisim is in our not too distant future, and I'll leave it at that. If my (and others) beliefs are correct about the state of our nation to come, we will be merged into what is called in some circles, the North American Union.

I hope that my statements here on this topic is not in violation of the rules, feel free to delete them if they are found to be objectionable to anyone.  I do not post them to be troublesome, only to share a point of view.

The Amero doesnt really bother me as if done properly it can increase the currency a la the Euro. However, the US will exert its major influence on the currency any how as we do now due to the shear size of our economy. Where as in the EU there are more than one economy that are equivilants. There are good and bad throughout. But in economic stand point it will help our economy better stand up against the EU and other economies with the addition of Mexico and Canada. Just think if our forefathers didnt bicker so much we could of had Canada and Mexico and much of the Caribbean as the US anyways.
