Politics is simple to understand ....Money talks, and the needs/wants of the people walks.

I don't have any firm allegiance to either party.....run em all out of washington as far as I'm concerned.

I'm over 50 years old, and have yet to see or hear of any politician ever keeping a truly meaningful campaign promise.  

There are some/few with good intentions, but they have no clout to actually make any positive impact on our society.

That's my take on politics. Yes, I'm very cynical when it comes to politics. Heck, I suppose I would ban myself from politics if I could.
