Re: what kind of dog do yall think this is?

Well my neighbors think there pit is the sweetest dog on planet but when he attacked me a couple months ago they told me it was my fault I should have went in my house and not been in my and yes I said my front yard and he wouldn't have attacked me. Well lucky for that dog all I had was a broom cause if my wife woulda tossed me my pistol in time he would have gotten a bullet in the head instead of a beat down with the broom

I wasn't suggesting you should keep the dog, just that dogs like German Shepherds and even my own breed, Poodle, has more incidents of biting than Pitbulls.  If it had been my neighbors dog that attacked me like that regardless of the breed they would no longer have that dog.  Dogs can't be judged by breed any more than people can be judged by their skin color.

Yes they can. If pit bulls weren't dangerous y are they banned in so many places?  Genetics make them how they are. But anyways who wants a dog

They are banned in so many places because news reports focus more on them than other breeds that bite more and more often. The squeaky wheel gets all the attention.

But as you said who wants a dog anyway?

                check out this site:

It's a site that helps to identify what breed of mutt you have (I used it when we got our lab mix a few weeks ago :))

I also have to disagree with you on Pit bulls being mean dogs purely through genetics.
I believe they tend to attract the wrong kind of people who abuse them and thus get a bad spotlight for something they have no control over, completely unfair for folks to judge.

We go to the dog park in Spring every day and see Pits that are just as sweet as anything else. If you have a local dog park near you post signs up on the entrance and maybe you'll get lucky. Hope you find a good owner. The dog looks like a Boston Terrier mix with a Pit bull or American Bull Dog.

You know... there was a point in time when I would have agreed with you 100%, in nurture over nature.

But something interesting happened to me this year.... I met my biological father.

Without having been in contact, or relationship, in any way with him throughout my life.. we both: Love to cook with pressure cookers, Love motorcycles, Love to fly airplanes, tend to think our brains around a particular subject and become extremely snappy if someone tries to interrupt us while in thought, we both drive Extended cab chevy/gmc trucks, we both Love spicy food and we read the same types of books, neither of us own a tv but if anything will simply listen to the radio. We both write and we both work in the engineering/sales fields. My specialty revolved around High Pressure boiler plants and selling used cars, his revolved around designing alternative fuels using high pressure vessels FOR cars.

Keep in mind, nearly thirty years.. no contact, wasn't raised by him, didn't know him.. yet.... some how, some way, these things were passed from him to me. The same desires thought patterns and tendancies. I get mad at the same things he does, I react in the same way he does.

How you are raised is a part of it, but, I have seen the proof in my own blood line, there are some things that are simply "in you"

That is incredible.  It does go to show we are partly products of our society, and part genetics (and also, I believe partly what we bring with our Spirits in this life)....

Thank you for sharing your story- it's beautiful :)
