My only complaint right now is the lack of information about the origins of the island.

Yeah, I think I'm going to have to rewatch all six seasons to see what makes sense now, that didn't as I was watching.

The ending of season 2 really caught me off guard, and charley.

My alltime favorite LOST character was Mr. Eko

I firmly believe everyone is a ex-somebody who used a second chance the right way

I wanted to see Eko go the distance. I'm happy with their choice for Desmond to be the constant. Matthew Fox supposedly auditioned for Sawyer originally, but only he could play Jack Shepherd.

I would still like to see more into the science/mystery that is the island.

I'm starting to feel more and more like this guy. What hooked me was the intricate level of detail into the science and mystery of the island. But in the end, the producers, with no way to adequately wrap things up, just bailed on the premise of the island being the most important aspect of the show, and instead copped-out to put it on the characters.

This is like the Matrix all over again.

Sadly, Mr. Eko was only ever going to be a short term character. I really wish they would have brought him back for a cameo or something though, he was one of my favorites. I'm not sure how I feel about the "ending"; it seemed like more of a season finale than a series finale. The "ending" created more questions than it answered.

It seems the producers felt the show was more about the characters than the vehicle that drove them, the island. The island was nothing more than a mcguffin. Such a shame too because I think they could have more than adequately tied up all the characters and yet still given some great insight to the origins of the island. I thought for sure this was going to be revealed as the battle between Jack and Smokie took place. Having Desmond pull a plug from the island's bathtub, only to have Jack put it back was a little weak sauce though.
