  • Leaving for Florida soon - any hints?

To celebrate our 30th wedding anniv. we are going to Satellite Beach, Florida, to stay with friends. (Yes, I was just a baby when we got married!)    It is close to Orlando from what I understand. He is flying us there and back and we are staying at their house! WOW! I have never been in FL. before. Anyone familiar with the area? From what I gather there are a lot of wildlife refuges around there.

Now while I'm gone (leaving the 6th, returning the 11th) no one talk any trash about me - deal?  :shhh:  And could you send some positive thoughts and or prayers for my fishies? ray:  I now have 2 small tanks and the big one. My oldest daughter is going to take care of them, the cats, the dog and the bird, but . . . I just don't want to come home to a bunch of dead fish. I'm going to get an automatic timer this weekend for the lights and just hope she remembers to feed them! The cats and dog are vocal enough she will have tofeed them, and the bird will squawk if he get too hungry as well.

Your fish should do just fine without feeding them for 6 days.
I would just turn off the lights & not feed them until you get back home.
Most people will over feed the fish & cause you more problems then not feed them.

You can measure out feedings and put them in plastic baggies. I do that and then hide all the other food if I have somebody besides my best friend fish-sitting. :)

        Don't feed the aligators
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'
