I'm looking at small (just to play with) video camera's. All I want it for is to take videos of my fish and put them online. I was looking at the flip camera. Any ideas on a nice camera for a small price. I don't want to break the hubby.
    Thanks

I am going to order a Flip camera to use at work. I saw one in action at a training on teaching social skills to children with autism. The presenter took three videos and spliced them together in about 10-15 minutes total. It looked so easy to do. If you get one, let us know how you like it.

      Good question.
I joined the "Paranormal Investigation Research...blah blah" at school. (yes, i'm back in school again).

Anyways...I need a video camera to catch ghosts.

Well I thought about the flip camera but I have read so many bad reviews about it. My hubby surprised me with an early valentine gift. He went to circuit city and asked the guy at the counter which one would he want? He showed my husband the Sony DCR-SR47, I have played with it a bit and so far I like it. I haven't hooked it up to the tv to see how it looks. It has a slot for a memory card but you don't need one. This thing has a hard drive. I've been reading the book on it. It takes video's and still shots. I've tried both and it's pretty easy. The cd-rom it came with is awesome. It really does some amazing things. I've only had it a few days so I'm still playing and can't really give you a good review on it. So far I'm enjoying it. The battery last about 1 1/2 hours same as my other camera with a tape. I'll have to get a spare battery. So far that's the only disappointment I have. But none of batteries last very long in anything.

        Here are a few points:
It's small and fits in my hand, 60X zoom, touch screen, it has an button so that you don't have to load the video's on your computer, you hit the button to burn it straight to a disc. Just use your computer as a go between or use a dvdirect. It has 60 GB for up to 45 hours of recording. Depending on the setting. The little screen turns 180 degrees. That's about all the goodies I have figured out so far.

Cool! If you get any videos of ghosts, can you post some here on the box?

            Fishboy,

Definitely, I will post it on the lounge if we catch anything.
Galveston is supposedly the 2nd most haunted place in the U.S., so hopefully I'll catch something on film.

my father in law is the VP of Conn's. I'm sure if you knew the specific model, he could find you one fairly cheap.

I played with it a little more today. I hooked it up to the tv and tried a few of the different settings on the camera. To me they pretty much all look alike. Anyway it's not hd quality video but it's pretty good.
Here are some pics I took of the video running on the tv to give you an idea. It looks much brighter and better in person. The pictures don't do justice.

btw: I think our tv is either 45" or 48". I can't remember.

                        Looks good to me.
Maybe I'll swing by best buy and pick one up.

                          Here's a few more pictures.
                          The camera open:

In the next two you can tell it's me that can't take a good picture and not the quality on the tv.

This is the video selection screen on the camera. I took the picture off the tv to get a bigger view. This picture turned out really good. Just like I see it on the tv.

This is a picture of the picture selection screen on the camera. I also took this picture off the tv for a bigger view. As you can see sometimes I can take a good picture & sometimes I can't. It should be as bright and bold as the first picture but it's not. It's the user not the camera's.

Isn't some prison facility the #1 most haunted place in the U.S?
