I came to Houston with a Honda Shadow in the back of my pick up...after five or six long trips on Houston highways, I sold it and used the money for the DP on the Ranger Bassboat.
Best decision I have ever made, me and fishlady have fished in that boat no less than 200 times since Oct of 05.
It's a heck of a lot safer on the water than it is on a bike riding around the streets or beltways of Houston.

About 4 years ago my buddy was sitting at the Gulf Bank / Airline light on his Honda Shadow....a guy turning ran right over him snapping his left leg in 4 places....then took off! Well, just so happens a ambulance and wrecker were sittinf=g at a store and saw it all....ambulance rushed right over and wrecker followed the hit and run driver till police caught up. The law suit is still tied up in court....my buddy has 4 rods in his leg (2 in his ankle, 1 in his knee and 1 running down his leg.) He still walks with a bad limp and can't navigate rough terrain very well.A mouth will say anything....:ym_chatterbox:....Take a picture!!!!

It's really a shame we can't all just take our time and treat everyone around us as family....Glad to hear your buddy is at least "up and around" HH.

I've been cut-off many times too. Its always been by sport-bike riders. They treat those things like fighter jets, weaving in and out of traffic. I guess the more I think about it, most of the wrecks I've made where a car was at fault have been with cruisers.Experiencing an aquatic renaissance!

I was waiting in traffic at Clay and Eldridge when a man on a cruiser type motorcycle drove right down the middle of the road between the cars making his own lane. I guess he didn't want to wait in any traffic. I never noticed him until I was slightly startled as he drove right past my mirror. I was waiting and hoping that someone would block him off or open their door. There are good and bad peeps on motorcycles.
