I am still calling this. Even without the head coach, the Saints look very, very good this year. So far, their defense looks significantly better. I am still mad about last year. The Saints almost beat the 49ers in San Francisco after committing 5 turnovers. I also think Green Bay is another contender. Not too worried about the 49ers or the Giants. The last time the Saints played the Giants, the Saints destroyed them.
I have not seen the Texans, but as long as they haven't fallen back any through free agency (and can keep their qb healthy), they should still be good. I hear in the AFC, the Ravens are the team to beat, but I have not seen them either. I think time has caught up with the Patriots, we just played them in preseason, and Brady did not look very good (we had been practicing against them all week, and the reporters were saying that during the practice as well).
Perhaps some of you Texans fans will come to New Orleans for the Superbowl...we can have a fishy meeting before hand.
I don't know about the Texans anymore. I saw you all play the Saints in preseason (and I will be the first to say preseason means nothing). I knew that you all lost Mario Williams, but I did not know that you lost Demeco Ryans as well (to a trade no less, dumb move). Those were your two best defensive players. On the plus side for the Texans, the Ravens and Patriots are too old I think, that leaves the Steelers and Broncos as your competition. If you all still had both those players, it would be a no brainier, but now I am not sure. (I would have posted this sooner after the game, but I had to deal with the storm and some other stuff).
Oh, and I told you I was not worried about the Giants, and look what happened last night.
Good post but you fail to remember that Mario only played in 6 games and Demeco didn't see a ton of playing time either so I think they will be fine although losing the tackle Winston will hurt far more than losing Williams or Ryans

Yes, the Saints defense was pretty bad, but they were also trying to play defense where they were always trying to strip the ball when they tackled. Look at 33 and 22.
