  • The War On Drugs And Marijuana's Legalization Struggles

So we've spent billions since the 80's to fight this war, and yet nothing has changed. All it has become is job security for the law enforcement industry and a talking point for politicians.

Now it looks like the marijuana walls are slowly crumbling and I couldn't be happier. I say legalize pot. Then farmers can grow it and make money. Its a cash crop that everybody wins with: farmers, tobacco fermenters, cigarette manufacturers, bulk distributers, retail stores, head shops, flourished/expanded accessory market and, wait for it.. the government would be able to tax it!

It makes zero sense that its illegal now. Its a dried plant with no additives, preservatives, that is simply smoked the same as shredded tobacco you can get anywhere now. Nobody fights when they are high, nobody beats their spouse, kids, the dog, when they're high. As for driving while high, I don't have the numbers, but I NEVER hear the news report of a wreck involving someone who was high. Most people I know who smoke just don't drive when they're high. Either way - there's no way marijuana is as harmful as alcohol, and beer is the main sponsor of damn near every aspect of our daily lives.

Now.. other drugs like cocaine, heroin, meth, pcp, acid, mdma, and the other hard drugs.. I say keep them all illegal, but NOT put people in jail for possession. Instead of wasting my tax dollars going after hookers and johns, go after dealers you can catch in the ACT of selling. Those are the ones who need the jail time. Oh yeah, prostitution can stay illegal, or at least without a license - but stop wasting my tax dollars going after hookers and johns. How are either of those two doing anything that is gonna physically or fiscally hurt anyone else besides themselves? Lets go after some real criminals for a change, lazy-*** vice squad!

Probably the only time we'll ever agree on anything. Me and my friends have found a legal way to still accomplish all the wonderful side effects of marijuana. Its called "Spicy Green" and "Serenity". Both can be purchased at most head shops and its awesome...it even gives you the munchies like weed.

Spicy green gavee the worst headache I've ever had. Still haven't found anything that gives you a mellow high like pot.

          The war on Drugs.....

Simply put, the war on drugs is a scam.....parts of our government, or more technically correct, certain high level officials conected with parts of our government were found to be directly responsibe for trafficking both Cocaine and Marijuna back in the 80ties.....who remembers Iran Contra?

The government has realized tremendous profits controling illegal sustances for decades....today our troops are actually aiding and in some cases tending the poppy plantations in Afghanistan...

          War on Drugs.....yeah right....

Salvia is more like a 10 second acid trip. Unless you wanna spend money on a 10 second high, its really not worth it.

Spicy Green makes me paranoid fairly often, but i've never had a headache from it. I really like the blueberry flavored Serenity. Serenity, in my opinion, gives a fairly mellow high, but it made me really sleepy. We had to keep smoking it so we'd stay awake....or thats what we told ourselves....LOL

I agree on legalizing weed. But what would be the problems from putting all the growers out of buisness in Mexico? Would they just concentrate on getting more deadley drugs over here?

According to the former Surgeon General C. Everett Coope, marijuana is the least harmful of ALL the recreational substances, including alcohol. It should be completely legalized.

There was an article I read a few years, possibly in Rolling Stone, that talked about how many bread-belt farmers secretly grow it now as a cash crop to help subsidize decreased crop sale shares lost to the big companies like ConAgra. I'll find it and link it.

If it was legalized damn near every farmer in American would grow it, just based on demand alone.

Count me in, aquapontic's or something like that. will my stuff have a NLS flavor? Old school stuff like maui wowi, columbo gold or some lima limone! i like the old sativa. indica is way to powerful for us old timers. We smoke for the flavor.

I've tried Sierra Citra and it hits pretty decent!

no headache, decent sideeffects, munchies for only a short period of time, no harsh throat burning.

Even though I enjoy a little Serenity on occasions, nothing beats rolling up a nice fat blunt full of Houston's finest hydro. Since I've had my daughter, i've stopped drinking and smoking anything illegal but I sure miss those days....
My buddy works for a hospital and last year he brought home some "medical weed" and it was amazing. Not that I'm proud of it, nor do I condone it, but I've driven under the influence of weed, ecstacy, cocaine and alchohol (not at the same time) and weed was definately easier to drive under. I've had friends drive through mailboxes and one wrapped a car around a tree in a persons front yard, all while driving drunk, but NOBODY has done this on weed. (knock on wood)
Unless there are some hidden problems that I'm aware of, I see nothing but good things if marijuana was legalized.

One can always look at it like this. Have you every heard of anyone smoking a joint and going home and beating their wife and kids???????? Didn't think so. Jimmy Beam and Jack Daniels can't say that. I'm skeptical to try Serenity, being that it's so new/unatural, but I have heard good things. The one time I triesd Salvia it was a bust, $20 down the hole.
