Wow...this thread is still going on...

I literally started this thread because i hate having Christianity thrown in my face every day. I don't give a rats greasy a$$ if the idiots that signed a piece of paper were Christian or not...i don't want "In God We Trust" on my money...i don't want to say "one nation under God" anymore i think its insane that i have to place my hand on a bible in court and swear to a God i don't believe in and then if i lie "under oath" i can be punished for that...how ridiculous is that...?
The truth is...its NOT fair. Im not crying about it or getting my panties in a bunch because i know Im the minority. Im not asking for people to burn down churches or abolish Christianity...i would just like for America to realize that some of us are offended by the things i listed and maybe its time to make a few minor changes to help us evolve into a nation that really cares about the diversity of its people.
Oh and Im sure Nick was not hitting on me a couple of pages back...but of he were...lolololol.

The irony is that those 'idiots' and that 'piece of paper' they signed make it possible for you to write all that without fear of prosecution or death, a right you wouldn't have in some other countries, that weren't formed based on Christian values. That's all I'm gonna say.

Army probes soldiers skipping Christian concert

RICHMOND, Va. — The Army is investigating a claim that dozens of soldiers who refused to attend a Christian band's concert at a Virginia military base were banished to their barracks and told to clean them up.
A Fort Eustis spokesman confirmed the probe Friday to The Associated Press.
Pvt. Anthony Smith told AP that he was among those who objected to attending the May concert by BarlowGirl. Smith says the soldiers were pressured into going to the show and when they didn't, they were ordered to return to their barracks.
The Military Religious Freedom Foundation says several soldiers complained to the watchdog group.

The Army will frequently "encourage" attendance at USO or other other recreational events by giving soldiers two options

A) You will be restricted the barracks
or
B) You attend the function and get a break

The thought process being that command can report to higher authority that the soldiers had both a break from training and an opportunity to attend a "morale building recreational" function. It is also embarrassing to command when no one shows up so they encourage attendance via the two options. As well when questioned by higher authority the commander can then honestly report that the men were given the opportunity to go to a concert and that the entire battalion chose to attend. The nature or content of the function has little or nothing to do with command's requirements to attend.

When I was at Ft. Hood in 05 training to go overseas the battalion was given 200 tickets to the UT vs Baylor game. Since we were training 7 days a week I chose not to go stand in 100 degree heat for several hours and bake. Those of us who chose not to go were made to clean the barracks and the battalion area.

The difference is we didn't go crying to the media. While I believe that this may have in fact occurred I assure you it had NOTHING to do with religion.

We had similar occurrences in the Navy. The military is what it is. It's not civilian and no one should expect it to be. Most times we didn't get a choice.

If you are saying there is two sides to a coin shouldnt you research the other side as well? There are sites that are non-partisan though its hard to find non-liberal information.
