I think you're being extra sensitive because Obama is Black. Yes there are racists. There's nothing that can be done about that. If Alan Keyes ran for president and won, there would be just as many Democrat racists booing him off the stage. That's America. Like smoking, racism is going out of style, but it usually takes a few generations to clean out. I think our generation is the first true equal opportunity generation. It probably won't be until our grandkids are adults and look back only to wonder what the hell was wrong with all of us before. It takes time.

The reason I asked you if it would matter if there were a different Democrat in office is because to me, it wouldn't. I don't like the policies his party is pushing, plain and simple. As for Clinton, he was the 90's. I know this sounds crazy to say, but that was such a long time ago in terms of digital technology. The reason it seems like so many people are protesting Obama is because now there are 24/7 Cable news channels and the internet. In the 90's it was the newspaper. People couldn't really mobilize on short notice as often like they can now or organize the way they do. Hell, look at the conversation we're all having now on this forum.

Oh... one more thing 9|11. We are living in a post 9|11 society. People don't want defense spending cut. People don't want to hear Obama's appointee to SoHS saying: "The system worked!" when in fact it didn't work! People want to know that the borders are secure and that we are safe. It didn't help that Obama's campaign was also exclusively Hope & Change. Where's the beef is what I find myself asking. Look at some of his appointees, and then look at the ones he tried but once the media got a hold of them he quickly dropped them. I'm not saying Bush was better. He failed on many levels. Katrina and Iraq basically broke this country's back. But he did try to stop the ARM's that Clinton unleashed from getting out of control.

I know racism and stereotypes well. Just because you are black doesnt mean you are the only one that understands what its like. I think you are too sensitive when it comes to race and are not willing to see what is wrong because color blurs your vision. As much as you like to think that you dont but you constantly defend people who are black when they are wrong. I defend people when they are right no matter who or what they are and I think that comes from how I grew up and the different races that are a part of me. I support Democrats when they do right and I bash Republicans when they dont. I cannot stand Bush Jr volume 2, he became such a socialist in his policies. The bailout of the banks was flat wrong. Volume 1 was more of my guy. If Obama was a conservative and his views were like mine then I wouldnt be on here blasting him because he would be doing things that I agree on.

I personally have no problem with the fact that P-BO is half Black/half White. It's his policies, redistribution of wealth, out of control spending and his association with Left Wing Radicals. I would vote for Kevin Jackson in a heart beat if he were to run for office and he is 100% Black.

Actually we arent groupies and I dont know why you have to say things like this because people are agreeing on a point. I agree a lot with Charles but if you have read the posts I dont agree with him on everything. Case in point the mortgage issue same with Jeebus I agree with him on several things but the mortgage and Katrina I do not. Doesnt make me a groupy it makes me an intelligent individual who can think for himself who happens to agree with people on certain issues. Just like I vote Republican but I am not a true Republican its the closest party that shares my ideas. I am social moderate and fiscal and foreign policy right winger. I would be completely fine with the legalization of marijuana since alcohol is legal and they are no different in my opinion. Please explain how I have the problem with race. Also I have been to NO on 2 occasions and it wasnt just French Quarter so please dont assume stuff. And I have said before that Nagin was part of the problem I didnt say he was all of the problem. The mayor, governor, & FEMA were at fault for the situation. The reason we have more resources is because we dont piss it away on scandalous stuff like NO and LA does. I bet that if White and Emmott were in NO they would have handled it much better. Yes I am speaking highly of a Democrat because I give kudos where its due and White did a great job on Ike.
