This is absurd that a congressman can commit substantial ethics violations and only get a slap on the wrist. Democrats want this buried so it doesnt stain them for the upcoming elections. If any politician has ethic violations they should be removed from office and if they are substantial enough they should be put in prison, ie, Rep. Traficant was. We are just allowing criminals to run our government.

Rangel will go away quietly I suspect. The Dems want this to go away and the Repubs will be afraid of being viewed as angry and mean right before an election. Once again the double standard will apply and nobody will apply the same level of aggressiveness to go after Rangel as if he were a Republican. All men are created equal but his choices determine his value and what's in his heart determines his worth.

JournoList contributors discussed strategies to aid Mr. Obama by deflecting the controversy. They went public with a letter criticizing an ABC interview of Mr. Obama that dwelled on his association with Mr. Wright. Then, Spencer Ackerman of The Washington Independent proposed attacking Mr. Obama's critics as racists. He wrote:
"If the right forces us all to either defend Wright or tear him down, no matter what we choose, we lose the game they've put upon us. Instead, take one of them—Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares—and call them racists. . . . This makes them 'sputter' with rage, which in turn leads to overreaction and self-destruction."All men are created equal but his choices determine his value and what's in his heart determines his worth.
