1. Most of the people who bash Democrats and Liberals here DO explain their individual point of view...sometimes even using WAY too many words.
2. Protected free speech? Protected from what? Are we talking about THE freedom of speech? Like, the freedom to speak without censorship or limitation? I believe Charles is asking you to speak MORE.

So because someone created a profile on a Tea Party website, then posted a photo of a confederate flag in their album on that profile, this somehow backs up the claim that the Tea Party is a racist organization?

Obviously, I'm using this as an example, and hopefully to make a point. One person does not dictate the thoughts and feelings of a group. How hard is that to understand?

That's a good question, because BOTH sides fail to fundamentally understand that, and we've had several topics lately where that has been an issue from either a liberal and conservative perspective.

Is your purpose to bash one side or the other? I'm just trying to get you to explain in your own words why you have the attitudes and beliefs that you seem to have. So far I've seen a bunch of videos and links posted from sites and organizations who have a big time agenda...and that's fine...but I know you to be an intelligent person and when you're asked to explain your positions you just post more propagandic links, rather than expanding on what you believe. In my experience, that is what liberals do...they come up with a slogan or generalized statement but when challenged to back those up, they cannot and resort to name calling, etc. I'd like to see you back this up with well thought arguments rather than a bunch of links or videos. That having been said, let me post a video which I believe illustrates my points. I'd be happy to discuss it.

You got to stop doing drive bys Nick. To provide readers of the thread information and ideas for debate which is what I thought we are doing in this forum. The proper thing to do is post a link preferably from both sides equally on the arguement. If not its fine to post one or the other side and then state your opinion on whether you agree or disagree with the news or link. Then allow for debate by others why they agree or disagree.

Nick, this is a discussion forum. By choosing not to have a discussion and just continuing to post inflammatory comments and links then ignore any discussion you are in effect "Flaming" in this forum and thus violating the rules. So name calling and flaming in this one thread. If you are not capable of following the rules or having a discussion in this discussion group then maybe it's time for you to have Traci restrict your permission to be in this section of HFB. After all, you claim to be such a proponent of following the rules and made a point of reminding me of what the rules are. Coming in here, flinging turds then running away and refusing to have an honest discussion is "Flaming".

Unfortunately, when I try to say something (coz I'm in the severe minority) certain people resort to what I perceive in my liberal mind as an attack, instead of debunking/discussing the content of the pages I have linked. I still have my warped feeling that I was bashing Democrats/Liberals, I'd be hearing cheering from the sidelines. Maurader, when the smoke clears, I'll consider. You'll say what I post is not true, it's not based on facts. Yet I noticed that it rings true enough that some find ways to twist what was posted in order to defend or attack what was posted, or attack me as a person, though I was not attacking any HFB member themselves. Is this section now the Fox News of HFB?

If this were true it would be more like the Huffington Post. Tonight when I have a chance maybe I can shoot holes in the arguments contained in the links and videos you presented on this thread. But I would much rather see you say what YOU mean and then give me links or videos to back it up, rather than just post links which you feel bash the right. Insofar as attacks, I'm not really sure where you are coming from. The only things that I've seen which might be considered as such are those which talked about you and Delock having your own set of rules/reality and talking about your unwillingness to post any of your own independent thoughts. I saw an attempt to goad you into expounding upon your beliefs with your own thoughts rather than just a set of links. It's like in that video I posted...you're essentially holding up an inflammatory sign (the links/videos) and then when challenged to back up the claims thereon or at least be able to even explain them you retreat to more links and videos. Aren't you strong enough and sure enough within your own position to articulate it yourself?

Nick...are you saying that because you post a bunch of links, and some people respond negatively, you can't have a debate with any members? Because there are a few posts in this thread (mine included), that you chose not to respond to that were absolutely NOT attacks of any sort, then just continued to post link after link after link after link, disregarding any attempts by members to engage in a real debate. If you are posting topics for other people to debate, but do not want to participate in it, well...I don't know what to tell you...you might want to add that to the topics you start, but I can't guarantee that you won't be questioned about your opinion on the topic(s).

No, if you were just posting links, with no content to back up your statements, you would just be receiving questions from the other side of the fence. StevenAllenBarnard, Delock, and Wesleydnunder (who range in opinion from left to center, depending on the topic) manage to debate their sides of the issues.

Debate - "discussion involving opposing viewpoints". Disagreeing with a viewpoint is not an attack. Asking someone to elaborate or even express an opinion on the links they post is not an attack. By ignoring the questions posed by members, and/or responding with more links without commentary, you are inviting people to continue questioning you. Some might even question your motives.

NOTE: This is NOT an attack.

My 2 cents worth.....I don't feel anyone was really attacked here, there might have been some strong comments made back and forth about each other's political & personal views, but when I consider the source of this topic, that our country is languishing and is in need of some real damage control, it's no wonder we squabble amongst overselves over all the BS that is constantly thrown at us by the elites/bankers and globalist who wish to control us thru the use of economic corruption and the political turmoil that they are now serving up to us by the main stream media....

The recession is not over, we know better than that, especially when they say it was over way back in 09....BS again....the government and media are being influenced or controlled by the real chiefs of this country and they are the same ones who took the majority of the Trillion dollar bail out monies....the real power in the US is a group of bankers, Wall Street owns this country now and they are in league with other powerful groups who use organizations like the CFR and the UN to make the decisions that will eventually shape the destiny of this country and yes, even the world someday if they are not exposed and contained by all of us, the people of this nation.

The GOP and Democrat parties are now just shells, mere shadows of what they used to be, the now only serve to give us people hope for something better than what we have now, but that hope is a false hope in my opinion, and we need to wake up before the carp really hits the crank bait and we all end up like cattle out on the range, waiting for the big drive to the market...

This post is false. I know the main posters on here try to debate whether everyone thinks its right or wrong is another matter. It is a warped feeling because if you posted something that was blatenly false about the other side I would call you on it as well. As an example if you came out with a post Bush was a horrible president and was a liar then I will call you on it. But if you said Bush became a liberal in his spending on education and medicare and so on. Then I would agree and we would gauge in a debate of the issues that would lead to that information. I know liberal dems dont want to believe it but there was a study done by the Pew Center (trying to find the study) that showed Fox News as the most center news organization out there. Though they are right of center they are closer to center then the other big news agencies. With CNN I believe was the next closest but on the left side.
