What are you all's thoughts on what happened?

I am excited by the turnout and the wave of conservatism coming back. However, the Republicans better not let us down by getting in there and not applying the constitutional conservatism that I voted for. I am disappointed that some of the Senate elections didnt turn in the Republican favor like Nevada, WV, and CA. But taking the Senate was a much harder task considering you are not voting for every seat in the Senate, whereas the House all seats are up for election. Last I heard 65 House seats will switch from Dems to Repubs, which is the largest swing in US history. I believe the biggest one before was 54 seats when the Republican wave came during the '96 elections. Might have my year wrong.

I'm happy too, bout the turn out and the increase in what appears to be genuine concern for the betterment of this country, but I fear that nothing significant will come from the newly elected officials......I fear that it will be business as usual until we come up with a new form of representation and or election.

Yup, I agree. The cynic in me thinks we've just traded one group of crooks for a new one. The idealist hopes that the new ones will work for the ones who voted them in, for a change.

I think it will be hard to get much of the Conservative agenda done in the next two years since Republicans only control the House. But as long as they stand by the conservative ideals and dont back down over the next two years Republicans should be able to gain control in 2012 and then you will see a change.

And I would like to add that I believe that there might have been some form of voter fraud in the Nevada senate race...I think that Reid rigged or fixed the election in some manner....he has some connection, not sure what it is....but at least that is what I have heard, and of course the fact that the voting machines were defaulting and or set on REID as the voter approached the machines to cast their votes.....

There folllowing is from the article shown below:

"Now there's absolutely no independently verified evidence of chicanery with the voting machines (yet), but it is worth noting that the voting machine technicians in Clark County are members of the Service Employees International Union. The SEIU spent $63 million in elections in 2008 and is planning on spending $44 million more this election cycle -- nearly all of that on Democrats. White House political director Patrick Gaspard is formerly the SEIU's top lobbyist, and former SEIU president Andy Stern was the most frequent visitor to the White House last year."

I am obviously very pleased. I think the message was very clear to both the Democrats and Republicans. Your job is to serve us and our collective will.

On a side note, I am pleased with the message to the "Republican Establishment" sent in NV and DE. We as a people will stand on our principals. We are not going to cater to your playing politics. You are hired to represent us and if you don't we will choose candidates that will even if they don't win. So get in line or find a new job.

Way to go Rand Paul, Marco Rubio and the many more who displaced career and establishment politicians in both parties.

To all the liberal and progressive wanna be activists, the original activists are here and we will not be silenced. The Constitutional (and conservative) activists that represent/support the Founding Fathers and the principals that this great country was founded on.
All men are created equal but his choices determine his value and what's in his heart determines his worth.

In the Governor's race, I was sorry to see Perry get re-elected.

It will be hard to see any major change because the legislative branch is split. When Dems controlled both branches of government they didnt get anything done other than Health Care. I was fine with Perry winning. I was very disappointed that Jeff Weems got beat so badly. I thought it was going to be a closer election than that.

We will see. Similar to Clinton 2nd year. A balance government is more effective. I think I stated here that I prefer a Rep controlled house. Now let see if the hidden agendas are put away for the good of the country.

As for Perry...I hope he fall into a creek!

I always thought Perry was a snake, but when I saw the widow of a HPD officer in a Perry commercial insinuating that her husband was killed because of something White did or didn't do, I was disgusted. First, her husband was killed because he didn't do his job; he put an armed suspect in the back of his car.

Second, Perry has done squat to secure the borders, yet to listen to him, that's been one of his top priorities... and don't even get me started on his attempt to mandate those vaccinations for Texas schoolgirls.

Now he's on a nationwide book tour prepping himself for the 2012 Presidential race.

I really hope he chokes to death on some of that thousand dollar a bottle wine he swills.

I didnt have a problem with the ad. I agree Perry hasnt done much to make the borders secure though he doesnt have much flexability to do anything other than ask the federal government which he has done. I am disappointed that he didnt support AZ in their new law. Any mayor of a city that is a sanctuary city and becomes more relaxed under him/her will never get my vote for anything. Austin, Houston, and Dallas mayors should all be ashamed of themselves.
