59 million Americas are without health care. Banning a certain food item is not a big deal. Times have change from when most of us was growing up. We got outside more and didn't have fast food as a major part of our diet.

1) Every American has Health Care available to them, not every American pays for it. Heath Care and Health Care Insurance are two very different things. There are emergency rooms everywhere and they WILL NOT turn people away who need emergency care and there are clinics everywhere. Also, you don't have to have insurance to go see a Doctor, you just ave to be willing to prioritize a Doctor's visit over getting your hair and nails done, or buying the latest $100 shoes, or 20 inch rims and 15 inch subs for your car, or XBox/PS2/Wii, or Coach purses, or big screen TV's, or iPhones, or (you get the picture)
2) Every American has "Access" to health Insurance, not every American is willing to prioritize paying for it (See #1). Admittedly, not every American can afford it but that number is estimated to be below 8 million American Citizens. That is less than 3%
3) The estimated number of "Uninsured" US citizens is highly debated and seems to rise by 10's of millions monthly. Non citizens are being falsely added to those numbers but that is a whole other issue. All men are created equal but his choices determine his value and what's in his heart determines his worth.

An example would be if you were badly injured in a car crash and rendered unconscious, whether or not you can afford it or not you will receive it, and you will be responsible for paying for it.

My point is, If you have "Bling" or your car has "Boom", you better think about selling some $hi* before you start begging on the streets (from the tax payers and government) for money. Get some self respect and lose the vanity and pride, if you're begging, you can't afford vanity and pride. And asking for entitlements IS begging on the streets.

damn..really!
Out of the 59 million Americas that dont have health insurance. I seriously doubt that all have bling or boom! But, we as Americans have become the most unhealthy country of them all. Fast food establishments are not looking at keeping us healthy only full. I take it everyone have seen the pictures of the happy meal that sat out for 6 months? If not I can post it. I wonder if they are teaching kids about the four basic food group!

What does health insurance have to do with fries vs. fruit or a toy in a kids meal? What does heath insurance have to do with anything anymore? Our government already fixed that problem. It's a law now. No more heath insurance crisis anymore, right? Our Fishhouse

Furthermore, if you don't have insurance or you're worried about your kid being fat, hows about you put down the 40 and take the game controller from your kid, grab a lawnmower and get your fat kid and your broke a$$ out and mow a few yards. You can make enough money to pay for a Doctor's visit and your kid can burn off some calories without having to beg like some broke down crakhead.
Who knows, you may even learn a little self respect.
This post is not directed at anybody in particular but is about everyone begging for a handoutAll men are created equal but his choices determine his value and what's in his heart determines his worth.

Quick question, just to turn the discussion back on course. How is what SF is trying to do different that how the local and federal enforce alcahol and tobacco laws. It could be said that while yes, cigarettes and alcahol are bad for children, that it is the responsibility of the parents and not the retailers to make sure their children don't buy and consume the products?Haiku's are easy

Also, how come we keep talking about "bling" and "boom" and "Coach purses"? Charles has brought this up a couple of times. why do you believe, or if you don't believe then why do you keep suggesting, that people who are uninsured have all this fancy stuff. to me, it would seem, that if someone can't afford insurance and they are eating at places like McDonalds (fast food can be some of the cheapest food, that's one of the reasons I eat it when I do) that they probably don't have a lot of money for these fancy things. Or is guygeekjust trying to use this as an opportunity to go off on one of his "class warfare" rants again.Haiku's are easy

You're right, it's exactly the same. They went after (and are still going after) cigarette companies. Making it so they can't advertise using Joe Camel (as if a cartoon camel is the reason ANYONE ever starts smoking). And making it so they can only advertise in print ads. Same with alcohol. And most recently removing the word 'Light' from the cigarette packs. I still don't understand the logic behind that. Tonight I saw a story about how they want cigarette companies to put a photo of a cancerous lung covering 1/2 or more of the cigarette pack. Seriously??
This is all to say...I'm against all this useless overhead. When does it stop? Our Fishhouse

I feel that I need to point out that while guygeek does take an extreme approach to one side, it is in response to an extreme approach to the opposite side. The truth is that not everyone out there who needs help is abusing the system, but at the same time, there are a lot of people out there who do abuse the system. We know people in both groups. And we will give a hand up to anyone who actually does need the help, absolutely. But admittedly it is frustrating to watch a system that is in place for those in 'need' to be damaged by those who just 'want'.Our Fishhouse

I'm just saying that I think we like to pick and choose when the government can have a say in how they live. No one has a problem with the government not allowing kids to purchase alcohol. But when the government tries to tell fast food restraunts they can give away free toys in kids meals unless they offer healthy alternatives to substitute for the fattier ones IF THE PARENTS CHOOSE TO, and that crosses the line.Haiku's are easy
