Does the US Government run the Federal Reserve?
I said No. They are 'accountable' to Congress, but they don't have to get approval from anyone in Government to do what they want. I don't think they are necessarily 'private' either though. The Fed is something unlike any other structure in this country. It's kind of confusing.Our Fishhouse

Dunno the answer, but i find it hard to believe that the federal reserve will ignore any orders handed down by congress / executive branch.
All i know is, since they announced that they started printing money, i have moved most of my savings back to Singapore before inflation kicks in and the USD is worth nothing.Comment
