  • Liberal hate hypocrisy

Where are they when we really need some explanation?

All men are created equal but his choices determine his value and what's in his heart determines his worth.

"Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end"

I talked to a friend thats a Democrat. I said I cant believe that we are talking about politics in the wake of a tragedy. And how the media is blaming republicans, Sarah Palin, Rush, and etc for causing this. He was like I dont know all of the info but the rhetoric of Palin, Limbaugh and the right do not help. I said that they are quoting lines like we need to be armed and dangerous when it was talking about attacking cap & trade. Or Palins bullseye on the congress womans district. All the while ingoring the fact that the Daily Kos used this same bullseye on her district because they felt she wasnt liberal enough. Or when Obama uses the term we need to bring a gun to a knife fight. Also by all accounts this kid was a left wing nut job and his favorite books are Mein Kampf and Communist Manifesto. I told him I don't blame democrats for the fact that he was a left wing nut and by some reports he attacked the congress woman because she was not liberal enough.

It's truly frightening. By all accounts, this guy was CRAZY and that was his motivation for the Tuscon shooting. His politics were in fact very far left and very similar to the Lyndon Larouche Democrats http://www.larouchepac.com/

            BUT...

In less than 3 days of the shooting, the Progressives (both parties) are calling for (never mind all the ridiculous claims of him being motivated by the right) the Fairness Doctrine to limit conservative speech, tighter gun control, laws against using certain words and symbols, special treatment of elected officials in airport security lines (my personal favorite) and gun free zones of 1000 ft of elected officials.

They have gone crazy in Washington with their agendas. CRAZY!!!

I suppose I just don't understand "hate" of any kind, regardless of where it was coming from, and it is coming from both sides.

Here's how things used to go to down where I worked before I moved here, and how I dealt with it. Me: "You screwed this up, you need to fix it." Co-Workers: "Well, someone else did the same thing." Me: "What does that have to do with what I just asked you to do? Fix the problem at hand, and then we'll all work together to fix the bigger problem."

Both parties need to clean their crap up, sweep the actual crap out the door, and get back to business. I don't think the rhetoric was the root cause of this tragedy (and I'm on the record as saying that from Day 1), but when the supposed "leaders" of this country conduct themselves (ALL OF THEM) in such a ridiculous manner, I have a hard time taking any of them seriously. Most of what they say anyway is trying to keep themselves elected or to make themselves money by cultivating atmosphere of hate and fear.

Both sides pretty much just use opinions disguised as facts (Several times, I, when working as a researcher, was told I didn't know "facts" by a Conservative, yet I was the one actually doing the work and had the information directly in front of me. I've had someone tell me that (don't know political affiliation), when I was one of only three people that had the information, because I was performing the stats at the time. It happened one time, and I pulled out about 500 pages of stuff, and said, "You can start here. This is primary information. Any other information from either side is derived from something starting here. I have more when you're done." They just said I was stupid, and left.), and utilize slippery slope or ad hominem (oddly enough, brought up in this person's diatribes) approaches to critical reasoning, both of which are invalid.

I appreciate all of you guys, because this is something you're legitimately interested in and follow, and you have provided me with links and information I hadn't heard. Doesn't mean I always agree 100% (sometimes I do), but at least I get the actual perspective. My personal feeling is that you have to adequately understand, and not mock and immediately dismiss, other perspectives to truly have your own. Some of them may be completely out there, but sometimes those are the ones that can at least be used to identify the flaws within our own views. . .
Tell your boss you need to go home to take care of your "cichlids." It sounds an awful lot like "sick kids." )
