Usually after I click the "new posts" and browse around a bit, I can click "mark read" without having to go back to "forum" and then "forum actions".

I still see the link...do you not see it on the Navigation bar as the right-most link?
I click New Posts, and I see these links on the nav bar => New Posts, New Group Messages, New Events, New Articles, New Blog Entries, and Mark Forums Read.Our Fishhouse

Weird. I have up to "new articles" and the last two are missing.
I am on a different computer today. It must be the problem.

What version of IE is on that computer? I'll see if I can reproduce what you are seeing. That's no good.
