What is up with the whole friends thing? What is the benifit? Can you post something that only your friends can see?

It's not really as useful as you would think, but there are a few things you can do with it.

• If you create a blog, you can set it so that only your contacts can read certain entries.
• Quick Links > Open Contacts Pop-up will bring up a small window that shows if your contacts are online or offline, allow you to PM from there, and allows you to select multiple contacts to PM all at once.
• You can set an option in your profile to only receive PMs from your Contacts.
• You can set an option in your profile to only receive visitor messages from your Contacts.

Those are the features I know off the top of my head. There may be more, and future versions also might expose more functionality.
