how is your skimmer performing, water changes how much how often, what is your tds from your ro/di, what do you feed your fish and how much, some food are loaded with phosphates , first you need to find where the po4 is coming from,

My skimmer is skimming really dark gunk. I'm doing 45 gallon w/c every 2 weeks. My tank is 200 gal. My ro/di is reading 000 on the TDS. No fish but I do have 5 peppermint shrimp that I feed pellets once a week.

I have about 200lbs of lr. I'm still a newb and only the basic stuff. What is a GAC or purigen?

one thing, you never said what lighting the coral looked pink under when you got it? it is going to have to adjust to your tanks light and water no matter what, but if it was under heavy actinic lighting, my guess is it was bright pink and you put it under your 10K so it browned up
given what you have said, I would do the following

                      get 14K or 20K bulbs
get a PO4 reactor with media
                      keep up with water changes

and wait for the coral to adapt

It was under led lightings when I got it. I've ordered the 14k bulbs and I am looking at a po4 reactor.

Am I the only one that thinks 11.8 alk is a little high? Usually 8-10 is optimum.
