Well, it's not really how old a tank is. It's more about how good you are at keeping things stable. Usually it takes a while for a tank to stabilize, but if you know what you're doing. Then it's possible. In my frag tank I have 3 gtba and the frag tank is about 3 months old. The only concern is your lighting. Your current pc lighting is not enough to sustain a bubble tipped anemone. Bta are photosynthetic. They require quite a bit of light to survive. Not to mention supplemental feedings.
I would swap to that 250w mh when you get the chance. Read up on what you want to buy next time. Make sure you meet the requirements to keep whatever it is you want. I bought my first gtba a while back. Because of it, I had to buy a skimmer, then upgrade lights, Upgraded tank. Because I made an impulse buy at the Lfs.
Usually advice should be taken. It'll save you a lot of time, money, and heartache. Unless you research and take the required steps, then maybe you can break the "rules". Not trying to discourage you. Good luck.

haha thnx. im planning on getting my metal halide back up. i've been brainstorming how i can put the mh in the middle. either hanging from my ceiling or me building some kind of wooden stand to put over the tank. when i first got my bta it was under 1 metal halide, but he only stayed on the side with the light. (of course) i was bout to fix the other mh but it cost too much for my budget right now. then one of my friends came across n sold me his pc for 50 bucks. it was a steal even though its not the best, but its better than nothing.72 bow front
bubble tip anemone
pair of ocellaris clowns

Bta dont eat phytoplankton, shrimp is good though.
Watch to make sure it's eating it. If the piece is too big. A lot of the time they will spit it out after a while. I feed mines mysis shrimp because it's easier. Feed fish at the same time.
