  • Do artic pods go bad?

Do article pods go bad. I bought a little 6oz bottle of reef nutrtition Artic pods (the kind to keep refregirated ) to try and save a mandarin I bought in December. The mandarin didn't make it so I just saved the bottle in the fridge and didn't use it much besides to try and FAIL at saving 2 petco clown gobies.

Recently I saw that I could feed this to my lps so I Target fed a candy cane that puffed up nice and colored up even better. Today I was about to do a Target feed again when I noticed the best by 2/1/2012 print. Instead of Target feeding I just put a bit more in a shot glass and dumped it into the water column....the ocellaris loved it.

So if its still ok to use it for how much longer would anyone guess itll remain good.

As long as it didn't sit on the counter for a length of time I think you should be fine.

I personally would still use it.

What do you mean in the counter?

And so would I $20 or more for a little bottle.

U can basically feed all I want like regular food for my fish or do I have to worry about too many nutrients.

I think it's like milk it's still good after the best by. It's just a conservative estimate but it all depends on how you kept it. Like milk I would give the site and smell test before using it. If it looks bad or smells funky don't use it. It should have a sweet smell.

It doesn't have a sweet smell but not a bad one either.

You should be ok. I use it daily in my tank. Fish and corals love it.

Yeah I was thinking about mysis. The pods should be fine as long as it doesnt smell "bad" usually most people can tell when something doesnt smell right. As long as you dont leave it unrefrigerated you should be ok.
