Clowns are pretty easy fish. One thing I want to read up on to see if it's true because I never heard of this until I watched fish tank kings but they said that clowns do poorly if there isn't live corals in the tank.Comment

i dont know i am new to salt. do they eat out of the corals? like shrimp, they need algae to survive but thats their food source.75g Tank,

I've seen plenty of happy clownfish that did not have corals. I think the argument is that they need an anemone, but some confused clownfish will even squat in some softies like xenia/anthelia or LPS like hammer/frogspawn. Regardless, I think clownfish can thrive in FOWLR tanks as long as you provide for their other needs.Comment
