I have a question if anyone knows answer to. I just got my vertex in-189 replacement pump in today hooked it all up and turned her on. My question is how high do I need to settle bubbles at.

When the bubbles burst, you want them to spill over into the cup and deposit the gunk there. The way you have it, the gunk will just stick to the inside of the neck.
You want the top of the bubbles to at least half way up the neck. Start there and adjust it dependent on whether you want to skim wet or dry.
