They have been traveling up the coast for a while so they are used to the cold now. More than likely the have come through Louisiana. Yeah lion fish can get huge especially in the gulf with few predators and ample food. If I catch one on a hook I'm cutting my line. After I beat it against the side of the boat for a while.

A shark can eat anything. Humans are the highest predator on the food chain. I think they are slowly adapting but the true test will come next year when the water temp will be sustained in the 50s. Right now the water is high 60s and low 70s which is warm enough for me to wet wads. But seeing them migrate this close is a bad sign. It's not likely someone would release them because they are simply too hard and dangerous to handle.210gPetrochromis Macrognatus Green 'Nsumbu

The cold temps aren't an issue anymore they have adapted. They have been in northern Florida for a couple of years so they are used to it now.
