      I would run the outer LEDs with the same color on the same axis.

      You'll get the disco effect really bad mixed around like that imo.

              Ill try both way with double sided tape before I plaster it down.

                Don't run them too long like that, they produce some mad heat and overheating the emitters will shorten the lifespan if not burn them out.

                    that is alot of cree for a 5 gallon.. Lol!! evaporation and heat phew! GL

                      indeed! Evaporation will be a bit of an issue depending on what % you plan on running those LEDs but regardless there will be some.

                      We keep the house fairly cool and with my 8x running about 40% I lose about 1.5-2" of water level in the last chamber daily!

                      BTW, your thread has given me the push to research on a UV alternative LED and I finally found some True Violet (400-430nm) LEDs so I have two on the way to add to my array.
