Will my coralife compact 10000k fluorescent be ok to grow coral?

I dont want to make assumptions based whats written on the fixture. lol

I had some led on the tank and it just seems like nothing really grows anything in the tank.
    Algae, ect.

the tank is a 18 gallon cube
Could use a dash of salt......

120 gallon Fahaka, Gar, Catfish, 2 dwarf graumi, 2 cichlid

    30 gallon salt

    10 gallon baby cichlid

Cf bulbs can grow corals just not as good as T5, MH or LEDs. 10K isn't the right color temp to be used solely you need to add actinics as well.

You can get away with it on softies but LPS and sps won't do well.

That's a good looking read. I'll have to really sit down and read that after a couple beers are in me, to fully understand it!

Your brain must work differently than mine.
I read that thing several times when I were totally sober and I could not understand half of it.
If I have a couple of beers in me, I would not get pass the 1st paragraph.

There's an error in that article: water freezes at ~ 273.15 K (or 273.1339 K to stay with the authors decimal accuracy) Didn't finish reading the whole thing.

Well, technically the author is also correct since water also is indeed frozen at 0 Kelvin. LOL

Good point, but when one says "water freezes at temp x", it is assumed that water is in transition from liquid phase to solid phase. So in this case, it is indeed an error or misstatement.

You need to decide what corals you want to keep and then get the equipment to keep it.

can you use 160w reptile fixtures and just get a different light bulb?
