Looking for the right tank..

Im debating on giving SW another shot.


But I am wanting to stick to around 40 gallon tank. I would like something that is more wide than tall. I like the 40 breeder but I need something that does not have tempered glass so I can have it drilled for bulk heads.

Any places that y'all would recommend to look for a tank?

Not sure but I believe only the bottom is tempered so you should be able to drill the back a good tank I've always wanted to do a salt tank with is a 33L

For the AGA tanks, no, just the bottom.

What about petco 40b from the $1 sale? Is it only tempered at the bottom as well?

I have drilled the sides of the Petco 40B successfully.

The Petco 40B are AGA/Aqueon tanks. Only the bottom is tempered.

Yeah none of the ADA tanks are tempered AFAIK.

I think Petco is actually switching their tanks to Tetra, those where the ones I saw last time instead of AGA.

Odd. Last time I went there were tons of AGA tanks. There were very few Tetra tanks. This was about a month or two ago? Maybe they were just out of stock from the $1/gal sale.

My 40 gallon breeder is drilled on the bottom. No issues.
