Another nocturnal snail that may hitchhike into your saltwater/reef aquarium is the stomatella snail. These snails grow to be about the size of a U.S. quarter. It has a beautiful shallow shell that resembles the coloring from the inside of an oyster shell. Dot worry the snails are reef safe and in my opinion the most beneficial snail to have in a reef tank. Light changes in the aquarium will trigger these guys to spew sperm and eggs into the water current feeding corals. There fairly easy to maintain and they reproduce quickly. These guys move quickly and blend into the live rock really well. Stomatella snails are nocturnal but with less aggressive fish they will venture out in the daylight. Here is some more great info on these creatures.
