Yeah, they are not considered low light stuff like zoas, GSP, mushrooms, and a few others commonly kept ones.

I would consider them med to high light. With a few LED mods and the CF stock lights it should ok to keep anemones.

Going with a complete LED mod or the MH mod then you can grow anything you want.

So the holding tank is Fresh RO water no salt right? Since the evaporation will be water and the salt will stay in the tank increasing the sp. Also why the skimmer if I use Purigen and Carbon?

Yup. You got why people top off their tanks. It's just adding RO water.

The skimmer is a more effective way to remove "bad" stuff. For your size thank you don't really need a skimmer. I think just doing weekly water changes it fine.

If you get a skimmer you will have to dose nutrients back into the tank. B/c it removes the "bad" with the "good."

do people use purigen in saltwater? Not sure what coral are you going to do but my nano setup will be dominate zoas. I heard they are very hardy.

Ok, from what I know (cause I didn't have this system, I had the JBJ 12g) you can add heater, temp sensor, float value, any equipment you don't want in the display tank into the two chambers on the side.

The middle chamber can be used as the overflow chamber. You can buy this overflow plate that covers the intake grill and turns it into something that works like a over box. Under that you can add filter flow, purigen, chempure, and LR rubble.

You might be able to mod the two side cambers some how to make them fugs.

Again, wait until I get my laptop and I'll send you some good links from nano-reef with the best ways to mod those three chambers.

Yeah man. Purigen are magic beans!

+1 on keeping zoas. Pimp corals with a lot of color (if you keep them right and pick the right ones).

I would wait on the zoas and shrooms. There are some really nice ones out there and you don't want to just get any old cheap stuff. Good deals on nice stuff pops up from time to time just be patient and wait for them.

should keep them alive. but there color is not going to be great and they are going to grow slow. They are like planted tanks in this way.

This guys went from HQI to LEDs. Like I said before, I think LEDs are really the way to go for nano reef tanks.

So I can fit 2 5 gallon tanks in the stand with a max footprint of 15x10. Wouldnt this allow me to both have a refug and a ATO resevoir?
